Oopsie, guess not. Demo's been yanked, and I bet there's gonna be hell to pay in UbiSoft for botching this one. Werner ------------------ Abbeville Field: Dedicated to the SDOE Experience. IP: Logged |

I've not tried it out yet.... How are people finding the flight model? I suspect experienced SDOEers will have no or few problems handling the planes, but I'd be curious to know how people think they compare?IP: Logged |

for me, the IL-2 is impossible to fly, it maxes out at 220 at level flight and when u dive u dont have enough performance to pull back up cause u loose to much speed when raise the nose even the slightest bit, i have YET to make more that 1 run on a target an successfully pull it up for another runIP: Logged |

On a related note to shadowcat's point, because of the way hit detection in IL2 works, SDOEers are going to have an easier time becoming aces online than those other guys with their hit bubbles. This has even been acknowledged by some CFS1ers and EAWers. Werner ------------------ Abbeville Field: Dedicated to the SDOE Experience. IP: Logged |

102 Meg! For a demo? They gotta be nuts. That'd take 100 years even on my Win2K machine in my server room. Three or four days on a 56K.IP: Logged |

I like the FMs, they feel heavy but fluid. And if you take your plane to the limits, and cant control it, you are screwed. (Like in REAL life!) Flying a plane in IL-2 requires much practice, skill and self control.IP: Logged |

...Sunray,I pulled the demo on a 56k in under six hours. I used GetRight, "set it and forget it"... Woke up in the morn and was the proud owner of the demo. IP: Logged |

The demo is great, but I've noticed that there are 'hit bubbles' when shooting at ground targets. I've been playing the IL-2 airfield attack mission, and if you shoot within about 10 yards of the 88mm guarding the airfield, you will knock it out. Doesn't seem realistic. I agree that the IL-2 is a pig. I've been loading it up with bombs AND rockets. It really wallows through the air, but I like it IP: Logged |
