Hello Poniat,

the ground looks same as the screenshot from Blind Faith. Think this should be???
I am running SDOE with resolution 1280x960 and antialising and filtering set on the vid card so nearly no "steps" on the lines. The colour ist set to 32bit.

My problem in OpenGL is, that if I end a mission and change to the next I have no control with keyboard or joystick. NOTHING!.
The only help is, switching off the PC.
If I enter to a mission and do not fly, but get out quickly and change to the next mission I get control by using Alt, Tab.
No idea why thi happend. I am no freak in this things.

Regards
Steffen

Steffen,

Regarding the banding. On my old Matrox G-200 there was no banding. The transitions between the shades where smooth. Now, with the Herc.4500 there is pronounced nbanding visible in DirectX mode. 4x4 antialiasing doesn't help much. The clouds, when close up, are still bilt out of funny, rounded-corners rectangles, pink in colour for instance. They are supposeed to blend together like in an impressonist picture (or a ink-jet printer printout if you excuse me this example in the presence of the Impressionists ).

Regarding the OpenGL. My Matrox didn't support it, hence my getting a new card (amongst other reasons). The Herc seems to support it but...

...like in your case, I experience random freeze ups, it happens during the flight. The PC doesn't process any input from ANY peripherals while the plane is still flying with none of the controls responding. A cold reset is reqired to come out of this

I hope it is graphics card driver related. A man from STM said they were going to look into this and even to contact Inertia about this. Of course nothing will come out from this, I doubt they would be interested

Cheers
