Hi guys, theres a poll on the main page asking what you would like them to focus programing time on. Just thought ya might want to add your vote if your interested in this game. http://www.targetware.net/ Also they are looking for a terrain modeler maybe some of you terrain guys might want to check it out, sounds like you would be under their main terrain guy so maybe even those with only SDOE terrain experience could have a shot. Its looking pretty nice, thats a place holder terrain its saying on the site. Oh and closed beta is starting soon

sod it, I'll elaborate, they don't need a terrain modeler, they need a texture artist to do some repeating textures for terrain and sea, and neither I nor my good friend that works with me on terrains could get our heads around what they are doing and how they are doing it, there was no help or assistance, I was never shown how to build a terrain for them, I offered on a number of occasions to build the ground units they requierd but was ignored. They have a tight inner team, air tight infact. Far as the game goes, it's pretty cool, needs alot of work still, but the models and skins are good and they have a great number of FM systems. Still, there's no room for people like us, used to building a terrain and texturing it etc, the way way work is massivley different and without assistance we were at a loss. I realy can't blame myself on this one, I asked and asked, but no-one could explain to me how to build a terrain for this game, which is what I was taken on for, I just gave up on them in the end, shame realy, but there you go IP: Logged |

Since Nat brought this up. The system was way too restrictive artistically for me. I'm not a big fan of repeating textures...mirrored wings or miles and miles of the same rice paddie IP: Logged |

I had a look at doing some modelling for a WW1 sim based on the same engine. Couldn't find the example and the 'expert' onthe forum didn't seem to be at home. For an 'open' sim, it is very hard to get the info on the nitty gritty. Kind of lost interest then.IP: Logged |

I also volunteered to make planes for the WWI project. What WTG says is true. They have no examples to look at (or they don't want to show us). When I started they told me to just "start modeling" and we'll figure the rest out later. I have a plane about half modeled, but I don't know if I'm going to give it to them. From what I can tell it's a small group calling all the shots and not involving the community in any way, other than for being slaves. Right now I'm trying to get permission to the WWI message board at TargetWare. They have it locked to the general public! That's a community project for ya.jgro ------------------ Jgro's Aerodrome www.jgrosaerodrome.50megs.com IP: Logged |

Well, first off, they are model thieves. Second, I have talked with Sickboy personally and was even involved with another project he was working on using the same game engine....1. Didn't like his attitude 2. Game is gonna suck...refer to back 1 That's all I can say on the matter.
