G'day guys, I've got a copy of the original F:U game for dos, and i am trying to get it to run in Windows ME. The problem is, is that It doesn't want to run in windows. The game starts to load, then it comes up with some Page Fault. Do any of you have any ideas on how i might be able to get this game to run (other than getting a copy of the windows version), or is there no way of getting it to work? TIA Biggles IP: Logged |

Try re-booting to DOS instead of running out of a DOS window. Maybe that will work.IP: Logged |

I thought Dos was dead in Windows ME, one of the reasons I have not gone for it. If thats true reboot using a windows 98 starup disk into dos and try that. Also look at the Website, it might have the ME sttings there, Rowans site has the info for their old dos games on their site.IP: Logged |

From some recent research I've been doing into Windows ME, there's no DOS. Really bone head move on the part of St. Bill's minions, if you ask me. Did your game ever work in Win95/98? Then again, some games just don't work in anything other than DOS or the OS they were made for. You could always buy an older used machine, put Win 95/98 on it and play your game on it. Remember, it's just a game.IP: Logged |

I was reading a review of the new XP OS at gamespot - If DOS isn't dead in WinME, it sure is in XP. Occasional crashes and all, Win98 is going to be on my HD for a loooong time. Werner ------------------ Visit Abbeville Field Today! IP: Logged |
