Yeah it sure sucks.

Ya know why we don't right Werner?

It might be on a Canadian movie channel cause they sometimes buy the rights to air some of HBOs shows.

I don't have HBO either. Try to get your local library to buy the video set and then check it out for free. That's how I ended up seeing the HBO "From Earth to the Moon".

No, I don't know Spanky, why?

Heck I was in Quito two years ago and they had HBO, called HBOole! I watched the news in Spanish on that station during the F117a crisis over Serbia, trying to pick out what was going on. My roomie and I also watched a cheesy movie at like 1 in the morning that featured the chinese using MP40s against King Kong, Godzilla and a band of Nazis. LOL Chinese lines, english subtitles, dubbed into Spanish. LOL Ahhhh.... lotsa fun.

Well WM, as far as I know the reason is that the CRTC doesn't think that our movie channels can compete with the american ones so they outright ban their brodcast in canada.

Kinda like "canadian content" taken to the extream.

I think everytime there is a Canadian channel that would compete with an american we loose the chance to watch the US one.

I think anyways.

I think thats why you can't sell the US mini sat dish systems in canada, cause we might get channels we arn't supposed to and arn't supporting out Canadian channels.

There ya go Jerry, something to bash Canada for.

Even with that though, I would still rather live here

Why would I want to bash Canada?

(It's only some Canadians that are a pain in the ass).

lol Jerry... I don't see our recent discussions as arguments (or anyone being a pain in the ass), but just that, discussions, and so what if we get divided along the 49th parallel instead of ideology, its a refreshing change!

That's kinda stupid about the CRTC... Remember when I said propaganda is alive and well in Canada? Well there's one example, controlling the media we're "allowed" to see. Yeah, like I'll watch Road to Avonlea and Green Gables anyways. Yuk!
