Now that I think about it, I vaguely remember being 18. The drinking age dropped to 18 the summer before and as I had and still have a beard, I was the one elected to buy our booze. I was working in bars and you could kill yourself in one on ten bucks. I think we even bought gas by the gallon then and it was $8 to fill the tank. Mind you, minimum wage was $1.65 per hour but the tax rate was way less. The friggin Liberals hadn't been in power long enough to screw things up the way they have in the last 30 years.
