I found this great schematic and driver for making an interface that lets you use a Playstation controller on the PC (or N64 or many others). The two analog joysticks work great, I've been playing Robotron in MAME with one stick for moving and one for shooting. http://www.ziplabel.com/dpadpro/index.html IP: Logged |

Freaking kick ass, I know you can buy them but this is better. I tried wiring my dual shock up before but it just wasn't working, I guess now I know why. Thanks a ton for the link, maybe some of emulation stuff will be fun. IP: Logged |

MAME is incredible, Robotron is still the ultimate twitch-game. I love it. The Playstation adapter needs a connector (opposite of the controller), I bought a $6 extension and cut it, diodes and RS232 connector add about $2 in parts, not bad.MAME can be had at: http://www.classicgaming.com/mame32/ "mame roms" aren't there, but Google can help you find them IP: Logged |

Oh yeah, it works on all games, not just MAME. I flew an SE5a with the Dual Shock just for fun. If you like Sports or racing games on the PC this would be pretty handy (it works with steering wheel and NegCon controllers too).IP: Logged |

Hmm. Well I found the download on another site and got the info I needed off the original site by using the cache feature on google. BUT when I phoned a local electronics place they said the specified diode wasn't a valid part number? 1N914? What did you use lothar? I found another site with a description and the same file, but in some wacky language, and they listed another diode also 1N4148, that did come out as a valid part, BUT the problem is the guy only has 2 in stock. I'm going to snap. LOL So I asked him to look up any equivlents he might have in stock. The way I see it a small signal diode is a small signal diode. As long as they were ment for the same purpose they should work close enough for this application. Lets hope so anyways. IP: Logged |

That's weird, he actually deleted the page and its icons, not just a server down. Huh.The diodes were from Radio Shack, about 10 for $1.50 or something. They are: Silicon Switching Diodes 1N914/1N4148 Let me know if you need the software or schematic, I still have them. If you can't scare up the diodes, I can mail you some leftovers (do you have Radio Shack in the Great White North?) IP: Logged |

Yeah it so wacky K this is messed LOL. First off radio shack up here is getting out of the electronics parts business. I guess they are just going to do home electrical stuff, stereos, toys, computers and stuff. I can kinda see why, some of the stuff looks like its been there forever. About the part number, seems the electronic dealer doesn't know what he is talking about cause you just confirmed the number and I have found it online at 3 different dealers. The really crazy thing is he wanted 75 cents a pop for the 1N4148, and online you can get 15 of them for a buck. LOL I'm going to try the guy again and If he still can't find any or order any in I might take you up on that offer if you can't see a use for them. IP: Logged |

Lothar if your sure your not going to use those leftovers it would be great if you could send those up to me. Seems electronics are impossible to come by in this region. It really sucks that the radio shacks up here got out of the parts business. email me at the above address. also you have version 5 of the driver software? If so then I already have it. IP: Logged |

Yeah, this thing is great, Its rocking for me now anyways with a bit of help from lothar. Its not on that website anymore, so contact me or lothar if you need it. Not sure why it was pulled. Almost every game pad ever made works with this sucker, Saturn, nes, snes, jaguar, PSX, N64. All kinds of them. IP: Logged |
