Harman and I just finished a session of Hidden and Dangerous online - 4am his time 1pm my time. Anyways it was loads of fun, I just wanted to share a screenie with you guys. This is me looking at Harman on a rail bridge (trains periodically go across it in game, too) somewhere in France. Werner ------------------ Visit Abbeville Field Today! That was a great game today Werner One of the best experiences of H & D I've had ever, look forward to more. Roger Wilco helps out a lot, instead of typing in chat messages in the game, voice chat is so much more efficient not to mention immersive Cool ------------------ Visit FS:SDOE Online IP: Logged |

That rocks. But err...ahem...that bridge is in Italy. remember, the first campaign of H&D is set in Italy. I very much like the last mission, where you are to blow up the armoured trains, and the whole mountain is crawling with German snipers. I've just started completing Fight For Freedom/Devils Bridge all over again, as I now have the horsepower to run it. It's a bit better than the original, in that the weapons in 1st person are 3d and offset to the right and such. I dig the Greece campaign! IP: Logged |

Whoops, Italy, you're right semmern. That mission is the first of the game of course, and I knew right then I had picked a winner - five minutes in and I was so immersed, and rattled after the first firefight by the guard house that I caught myself leaning in my chair to try and look down the bridge for the sentries. I hit pause and just started laughing - now that's immersion! Looking forward to more Harman, that was loads of fun. If you guys want I'll post up the odd screenie here as Harman and I battle behind enemy lines for you flyboys. Werner ------------------ Visit Abbeville Field Today! IP: Logged |

Another night mission, this time Piemonte Rail Yards. We had to blow up a generator and a fuel tanker, clear the german guards and rescue a lancaster crew we had been told were in the station awaiting transfer. I cover Harman as he inspects the distance with his sniper rifle The inside of the train station, looking up We suffered one casualty, but the three of us who survived reach the escape point as bombers flatten the railyard. That would be HD2 coming out now. There are however two HD games already; the original and Fight For Freedom/Devils Bridge, the addon.IP: Logged |

Yeah, our third mission, and one only casualty so far, which isn't too bad I guess.I discovered a better way of doing this mission now thanks to Werner...and I tried doing this mission again in single player mode after going offline, and well, I almost got myself killed by my own bombers' payload! The ending was a Hollywood classic, I was trying my best to escape as the air raid sirens in the station started wailing, but I was still less than halfway across the map to the escape point running frantically to get outta there. As the bombs started whistling closer, I passed a parked German truck. I thought this should make a quick escape...alrighty...get in. Luckily for me, it had fuel and was ready to go. I pointed the truck to the escape point and floored it, two bombs immediately fell no more than ten metres or so from the truck! Dodging flames and debris, I drove like mad and drove into the wall at the far end of the map, killing the engine. I got out and walked a few feet to the safety of the escape point. Anyway, this is beside the point, Werner and I had a great time playing online once again, little more lag this time though, but that's to be expected sometimes. I can't wait for H & D 2 MP. ------------------ Visit FS:SDOE Online

If the first and third pics are showing up too dark for you to distinguish anything, turn up your monitor brightness - the first pic especially is nice. Harman I don't know if you heard me over RW during our mad dash out of the rail yard (hehe, your turn to hear choppy comms ) but I nearly got waxed near the engine. I was running along the tracks, crossing them at a shallow angle, and just as I passed behind this one rail car, a German sniper guarding the steam engine took a pot shot at me. I tucked and rolled to the right, and ran up behind the engine. It was a nightmare situation, I had gotten separated from you, comms were unreliable, the air raid sirens had started and I had no idea if the sniper was coming around one way or the other, and whether or not he had friends. I guessed right and caught him from behind. I think I was so nervous I emptied an entire clip on him. It was just like an old war movie, with the engine chugging and whistling like a real one. I tell ya, SDOE is great, but only once have I ever been as immersed as I get almost everytime in H&D, especially when we're teamed up. That moment happened to involve a Pe2 followed by a 109, followed by a gaggle of angry spitfires. =FC= at the controls of the spits and Pe2. Werner ------------------ Visit Abbeville Field Today! Lol Werner, I didn't hear you too well once we had to get out of there, I lost sight of you and the AI member quickly, and I found myself running around like mad (like in any night mission) wondering which was the best route to take without getting killed. This way? No, I didn't come from there...hmm...this way?...Sometimes on that mission there's guards waiting to ambush you at the escape point on your way out, and it seems you got a close encounter. Lucky the sniper missed, usually those guys are quite accurate. ------------------ Visit FS:SDOE Online IP: Logged | |
