Rends, did Owen Hargreaves get any good plays in? He's from my city here and my neighbour's father advised him during his last year in Calgary, on whether to play for Canada, Wales or England.Werner  ------------------

yes this young guy played the whole 90min +the 2x15min extratime.

Blasius - are you for or against Bayern?  Well Hargreaves made front page news today, and it wasn't a slow news day either. Further in the sports section though was an article about the pathetic state of our national soccer team. They don't have a set place to practice so they move around... Yesterday they were in a city on the west coast in a public field practicing, and could have legitimately been asked to leave. The goals didn't even have nets!! They had to have staff go and chase balls.  It's a vicious cycle, people aren't interested in soccer because our national team sucks, our national team sucks because they don't get enough funding (to keep talent players in development), they don't get enough funding because the Federal Government barely supports sport to begin with, and even then only stuff like Hockey, because they don't see people interested in soccer. Hopefully it'll turn around though, a year or two ago more kids were enrolled in minor league soccer than minor league hockey, for the first time ever. I used to like Hockey, but the NHL is stupid now with so many teams that the talent pool is diluted and all the insane salaries, Baseball's boring (imho), the CFL is quality football but I'm not a huge football fan to begin with... so its soccer for me. Now if I could sneak into Tailslide's house I might be able to catch a game live, too.  Werner ------------------

Blasius,maybe you are an 1860 fan ;-)Overall, the best european football team won the match.And hey, i live in Schleswig-Holstein (many Bayern Fans here too) and i was near to an heart attack :-) durimg the final moments.
