Yes, it has a love story. But so did Titanic and it was an OK movie.

Well now I don't even want to bother with it.

And its not that I only like action movies.

I just feel this movie should be about the event, adding a love story to it doesn't add to the story.

SPR didn't have a love story in it and it was great. This is war people.

Zool, how's it going mate...long time no see.

Good war movie w/o love story:

Odd angry shot.....to the point, but not too serious - in the atypical Aussie tradition

Cheers,

AGAS 5

wait a minute,Kubrick put a love story in FMJ,several in fact, don't you remember; "me love you long time","15 dollar too boucou,we give you 5 dollar", "she say no f***y soul brother, too boucou!" or the ever popular "hey, you got girlfriend Vietnam?", "not right at this moment".

Barnes and Noble has the new book about the making of this movie and it is beautiful!

After spending some time with this book and a Starbucks decafe I don't care if there is a love thread, I will see this movie.

It's about the whole movie, cast, characters, plot, scenes, CGI, and more!

I thought, after seeing the TV spots on this film, that most of the action was CGI but after seeing the amazing full size fiberglass warbirds in production and the huge battleship sets, I know this movie is more than computer generated action.

The action scenes will be worth watching over and over because of the detail they contain. I can't wait untill this comes out on DVD so I can disect it.

Pearl Harbor had the largest "studio approved" (greenlight) budget of any movie ever made - $120 million. Obviously there is a lot more to it than a love story.

The love story by the way is about two brothers in love with the same woman - one brother flies for the RAF in the American Eagles Sqadron and the other is at Pearl....or maybe it's the woman in love with the two brothers. Whatever, it's what forms the link between the two theaters. Works for me.

Burkey,

Yes. FlyPast magazine (a UK publication) had a short article and pictures about it a few month's ago. There are supposed to be some pretty good BoB scenes.

So two brothers both being pilots in the war and being in different theaters, isn't enough to tie the 2 together?

Face it boys its a shameless way to get chicks to watch it.

Yeah If I was in a war I would get some ass when I could But That doesn't mean I would fall in love, Lots of guys did, but you don't have to include it in the movie. I guess it all depends on how much screen time it steals, as long as its just a tad its ok, but don't make it a second plot within the plot or nothing.

Yep, FMJ was a freaking amazing movie, I loved it cause it showed some urban fighting instead of the normal NAM=jungle stuff.

I think this movie has 3 parts, before, during and after the attack. If you watch the trailer closely, you'll see some B25's taking off from a carrier...ie, the Doolittle (spell) raid.

Probably won't be a Saving Private Ryan, but shit, after last year's crappy summer flicks, bring it on.

Isn't Spielberg working on an Iwo Jima type story now?

The pearl harbor title seems a little out of place with all this talk of after the event and bob and stuff.

Good point Spanky...maybe we should change the title of "30 Seconds Over Tokyo" too. I believe the movie lasted longer than 30 seconds (correct me if I'm wrong) so it must have included a lot of unnecessary material...like maybe a story. I seem to recall some mushy stuff about Doolittle and his wife too...yuck!

Gesh!!!

I think the inclusion of european airwar is pretty smart, as it displays how USA was dragged into an already world conflict. This is a suprising move by disney as it will show the ordinary American, whose knowledge of the war is hazy that it didnt start there and then. It will also celebrate those Americans who where already fighting it.
