And finally, after so many years of waiting, there will be missions set in Africa and Burma!!!! This is one I'm definitely waiting for. I finished the original and I'm almost halfway through the addon pack, really cool stuff. I must be lucky because I haven't had half the problems some people have with HD1, only that once or twice a guy in my squad would slip off a bridge into a river and die. Regardless though it feels so, so cool when you do a mission start to finish once without suffering massive casualties. I think I've had that happen twice. Werner ------------------

Yep Werner. HD rocks. I've also been able to overcome most bugs, but a few niggling ones remain. For example, whatever I do, reinstall and all, HD does a nasty thing to my puter at the mission where you're supposed to get away from Peenemünde in the SdKfz. I get past the Tigers and the first enemy camp, and start climbing the hill into the forest, when my PC locks up completely with three loud, fast beeps. Whatever I do, it happens nowhere but there. So it's cheating past that level for me . And also, the expansion has more of the excellent atmosphere found in the original, but I'm the kind of bloke that loads whenever I lose a teammate, and the loading time in DB/FFF is of the 'go-make-yourself-a-sandwich-and-come-back-to-see-it-still-loading-'type if yer know what I mean.Aside from that, name another WWII FPS with HD's kind of graphics, where you can lie at the edge of visibility peering through the scope of your Enfield aimed at a gray-clad soldier, suddenly to find yourself without cover charged on by three Jerries with them nasty Mp-40's, accompanied by a spine-chilling musical soundtrack that makes you want to be there! HD recieved much criticism here and there, but I'm one of the many that's able to look past the minor bugs and really enjoy this masterpiece. And thanks, Lil'B and Werner, for making me start playing HD again...   I've been away from it for a while, but now I'm hooked again! IP: Logged |

The 1.3 patch is pure necessity as it improves the game tenfold and squashes a hundred bugs .
