http://www.geocities.com/apollohoax/ A very eye opening site. Be sure to follow ALL the links at the bottom. They sure fooled millions of people. I myself believe that all of the Apollo missions DID occur for real, but since some people are so determined to disclaim NASA's facts, I'm reading more into it now. These claims piss me off. Frankly you disappoint me by buying into them so easily Pete.Dont buy into every piece of bullshit you read. Most of it is based on poorly thought out rationale, not science. Explain these? 1.) How did we fake the 800 odd pounds of rocks we brought back, that show clear evidence of being formed in an anaerobic, high radiation-exposure environment? 2.) How are scientists still bouncing lasers off the mirror we put on the moon if we were never there to install it? This is the longest continuous running part of the apollo program, and has shown that the moon is slowly drifting away from Earth. 3.) If going to the moon is as easy as making a movie, why havent we done the same for Mars? Now as for the "facts" listed on that site, theyre pretty ignorant. FACT: NASA had not perfected the lunar landing craft in time for Apollo 11. In 1999 they are still trying to get a rocket to land and take off again, 30 years after Apollo was supposed to have done just that, not once, but six times in succession. The craft to which he is referring was up for a bid as the replacement for the shuttle. It IS a lot harder build a vertical take off and landing rocket that operates in Earth's gravity, where you need a 7.7km/s delta-V to get into orbit. To do the same in lunar gravity allots more time to correct for errors, and therefore the reaction-control system didnt need such high precision. A lot of people claim we dont have the technology to get to the moon now, let alone in 1969. Bullshit. I work in the space exploration field, and deal with this stuff every day. Its not difficult at all, just a matter of money. Do these people think we've faked all the space probes we've sent out? IP: Logged |

Its funny that this comes up. I went to the producer's showing of the Fox special at some fu-fu restaurant and it was sooooooo half baked it was just plain sad! The entire show was just for RATINGS...you should see whats in store next. He claims that the Russians have faked their complete collapse so that agents can homestead here on American soil and at a designayed time...get this DETONATE NUCLEAR DEVICES! He will claim KGB agents have given him this info blah, blah ,blah. I cant wait.IP: Logged |

The part that bugged me the most about that site was the fact that he said they couldn't use inflatable tires on the moon. BUT THEY DIDN'T I was watching extream machines on 4x4s and they were talking about that and said that the wheels were made out of a mesh of piano wire. Everyone here has to admit its possible the US would have faked it if they didn't pull it off. I really want to see that movie, I think from the 70s that was all about it but I don't even know its name. IP: Logged |

Capricorn One?"Seabass said that?" That FOX show bugged me too. I didn't pay too much attention to the program, but it was obvious that no one involved in the production and scheduling could have believed it. It seemed a very cynical and bad-faith attempt to gain viewers at the expense of intelligence and journalism. The part I remember was the claim that you'd see stars in the pictures from the moon. Anyone who has ever used a manual camera (including the camera crew who shot the FOX show?) would know what crap that was. IP: Logged |

LOL yeah for sure, I use a manual camera all the time, and I was taking a picture of the moon while out camping one night, A chick that was walking with me asked me. "Why arn't you using a flash?" LOL Another thing that bugs me is when people use a flash taking pictures of fireworks. IP: Logged |

Falck, I'm disappointed in you for the fact that you think that I myself have fallen for this. I HAVE NOT! This post of mine was a scientific method to see where the majority of people stand in their beliefs about whether or not this was true. I watched the Apollo 11 moon landing on TV in July 1969 and from that time (and before) I never once doubted the fact that what I was watching was NOT real. I had no doubts that it was really taking place. And based on all the pictures and film I've seen over the years I do NOT believe myself that this was a hoax. But apparently many people do, which is a real shame. But ONE thing does concern me. The fact that Neil Armstrong won't talk about it, and that he said "Ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies." That got me questioning it all and finally now, after all this time I'm digging deep to find out if just maybe NASA did pull the wool over our eyes. If they did, I'll be hugely disappointed. actually lothar I need a bounce flash cause close ups of my son always turn out too bright. Pete, Neils coment bugs me too, In this crazy world of the internet though, we need proof that he did actually say that. and if they did fake it I would also be highly disapointed too. I just wish us humans would just get off our ass and go do this space exploration thing, think of the stuff we could do if we put all the money the whole world spends on arms into space exploration, Mind boggling.

someone once claimed that NASA killed Guss Grissom, Ed White and Roger Chaffee because Grissom was going to go public about the whole issue and apparently they tried to kill the appollo 13 guys aswell. Jim Lovell rubbished this and called the guy something and it caused the said person to sue lovell but the judge threw it out or something . The people who make these claims are idiots pure and simple. IP: Logged |

Neil Armstrong did in fact say "Ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies." But! It was not in response to a question about whether or not we landed on the moon. It was in faxct in response to a question about the nature of some of the equipment used in space flight - which at the time was still classified material. Taken in context it makes perfect sense - but out of context it seems sinister. Almost every supposed cover-up type quote you will see on these "hoax" sites are taken completely out of context.I also love the one claim I saw on one of the hoax sites that there are no pictures of Earth from the Moon LOL! Hell, I have the zero print of the photo called "Earthrise" - my father gave it to me - he got the zero print because one of the techs who was doing the developing of the photos at White Sands Missile Range in NM (where my father was stationed) owed my dad a big favor, so he "lost" the zero print - print 1 went to the President. I'll see if I can safely get it out of it's frame and scan it (it's an old photo now after all..) -Stark IP: Logged |

show me the american flag that was left behind on the moon and ill beleive we were there. Im sure we have the equipment to zoom in on the moon close enough to see the stuff left behind. [This message has been edited by ZooL (edited 04-19-2001).] IP: Logged |

Ummmm...no, we don't. Not even the hubble could resolve the flag left on the moon. We might be able to see the lander remains or the buggy - but even then they would just look like a tiny speck of dust. Do remember that the lander was only about as big as a large van (top down area wise) and that it is 250,000 miles away - by comparison that would be like spotting a flea in LA from New York. What we can do is bounce a laser off the mirror we left there to measure the distance between the Earth and the Moon - that mirror was put there by the Apollo missions and is still used today - it's the only part of the Apollo program still in use.-Stark [This message has been edited by Stark (edited 04-19-2001).] IP: Logged |

Jerry, you seem to think that I belive they were faked. I have never said that only made some points. Me talking about the picture of the flag on the moon was just me joking about the whole thing. I'm sure some people would never belive we have been to the moon, even if you took them to the telescope in person and showed it to them, they would just go on assuming that you faked it. Heck you could bring them there and they would think you had them on some fancy sound stage or in some secret goverment VR lab. LOL
