I'm building a Me-109G6 and a FW-190A8 at the moment, 1/48th scale. I have bought sets of decals for both (Hartmann with the petals and Kurt Buhilegen of JG2 Sept. 1944) and I was hoping to make these as realistic as possible.

So here is the question: What colour are the wheel wells on both a/c and what colour ar the inside of the undercarriage doors and main legs? I don't have a clue!

Also I'm using Humbrol paints as that is all that is available near me and I was wondering what colour is RLM70 in Humbrol? I used 91 which is Matt Black Green. But in pics of the plane and in this game the spinner and petals for Karaya One seem to be the same colour. Mine is not, the petals are black and the spinner is black green. What is right?

Does anyone else use Humbrols in here? Is 65 humbrol the same as RLM76?

Thanks

Snake

Well,
From what I have seen at a 109g in a California museum, the wheel well and the undercarriage were the same color as the bottom of the wings. But I imagine this could be different depending on the unit.
Good luck, that kind of stuff can be tricky to get good info on...

Most models at hyperscale seem to have light brown/grey so I made up my own and did that.

Any thoughts on the RLM76?

If you do a search on either Humbrol or Tamiya at www.dogpile.com , you will find color charts, etc....I am not sure if they have comparison charts for colors, but I am sure there is something either there or maybe Yradstick knows- with all those great Luftwaffe schemes he does-- I think he has some color charts.
