My honest opinion on not using a fan.. the Vid cards CPU will explode. I've actualy seen this happen to the old Cyrix chips when overclocked without sufficient cooling. At best, overclocking without extra cooling (fans) will cause you intermitant lockups forcing a hard reboot, and at worst it will screw up the card completely. For the price of a p200 heatsink and fan (just take the fan of the heatsink and attach it to the one on the card) I'd not risk it at all, the voodoo generates so much heat it's unreal, much more than your CPU does, and needs alot of cooling. IMO even the 2000 series should have been released with a cooling fan as spec.
My honest answer..
Add a P200 rated fan to the heatsink on the voodoo. Also, either buy a set of twin "Card Coolers" (They mount above the cards and blow down over them) or if you have any old power packs lying around, open them up, remove the fan and mount it in the case to blow onto the card itself.
I'm very touchy about cooling, and I can tell you honestly the V3 2000 needs it, it wouldn't be a good idea not to add fans even without overcloking IMO.
It's cheap enough and easy enough to do semmern, and would be the best thing. If you can't screw the fan onto the heatsink (I couldn't) use smal spots of super glue to attach it, thats what I had to do and it works pretty well, I'd rather have a more powerful fan for it though.
