Well..... unfortunatley I cant say SDOE. There is only ONE game that beats SDOE, and its not a flight sim. Its called Gazillionaire.
http://www.happypuppy.com/win/demos/gazilliona2.html

Try the demo, I bet you'll love it. It may look silly, but its ADDICTIVE. I loved it. I want to buy the full version sooo much, just never got around to it, my Dinosaur collection takes money priority now.. .
So, whats your favorite game in the world??

------------------
Disney's Dinosaur, my passion, my love, my life. Think Im obsessed? You're right.

Favorite game in the whole world? That's hard...haven't played nearly all of them, LOL!! But, to date, has to be Duke Nukem 3D.

this is easy.. top of the list will always be DoomII, no question. Yes today it looks shitty, but even so, it's a damn sight harder than any other shooter I've played, hell I finished Halflife and Unreal in 2 days each It brought the games world to life and internet/lan games really started from it.

I remember an old Atari game, one player controlled a large bomber type aircraft, the other had 4 small fighters (all moving together) It had great clouds! you could 'hide and seek' in them...

For me it would have to be either:
a) Spaceward Ho!
b) Robosport
c) SDOE

a and b were both games I played for several years on my mac, back in the early nineties.

Easy. The PEE course of fire a the Second Chance Combat shoot. It stands for Premature Ejaculation Event. Shot with a submachine gun. First mag aimed at moving and short exposure targets, the second in one continuous burst at a row of bowling pins. Last time I shot it, they provided a .45 cal Reising SMG. It's a WW 2 weapon used mostly by US Marines. Great fun.

SDOE hands down. I have spent more time playing this game in the last two years than all others combined.

Other favorites, The Seventh Guest, Trespasser, Nascar 1-4, Dirt Track Racing, PAW 1942.

And Fighter Ace. Man that was a great feeling trying to make General. One time I had 4 stars in a P-51D All the GE were trying to get me, but the USA backed me up.

LOL, Hip63 "Adventure" was my favorite on the Atari 2600, and I used to play Spy Hunter after work then try and drive home and not knock people off the road

'Tis a bit difficult to decide...there are so many cool games.

Strategy:
(in no particular order)
Total Annihilation, exp. packs Core
Contingency and Battle Tactics
Commandos BEL and BTCOD
RollerCoaster Tycoon( )
Sudden Strike
the Close Combat series
Fleet Command

Driving:

Grand Prix Legends
Colin McRae 1&2.0
NFS: Porsche 2000
Gran Turismo (PSX)

FPS:

Hidden and Dangerous and HD: Fight For Freedom
Quake III Arena
Rainbow Six

Flight and ground Sims:

SDOE
Panzer Elite
Steel Beasts

Action:

Crimson Skies
Worms 2 & Armageddon

If I was asked to delete all the games on my HD, save for those I dig bigtime, the following would remain:

Grand Prix Legeds (man, is it cool!!!)
Crimson Skies
SDOE
Sudden Strike
Panzer Elite
Colin McRae 2.0
Hidden and Dangerous + exp. pack
Total Annihilation
Worms

I also play a lot of Risk (the board game)
and plunk off some shotgun shells at clay pigeons now n' then.

------------------

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
and danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings.
Sunwards I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds
and done a hundred things

You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there.

I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Jones,

I don't know if you've tried to hack the files at all, but one of my hopes was to be able to fly the other planes in Cuba. I did manage to put the C-5's wheels on my A-10, and I managed to put the guts of a C-5 in a B-52, and also to change some of the preprogrammed waypoints for the B-52s in some missions, but in the Air-to-Air training mission I've been trying like crazy to have those 3 C-5's that are parked on the ramp taxi out and take off. But nothing I've tried works. I wish someone else among us would take up my cause and try to come up with something interesting to do with A-10.

If anyone is interested in poking around the files and seeing what we can come up with (like flying the F-15 and F-16) let me know and I'll share my findings with ya.

1.SDOE
2.TEST DRIVE 5
3.TOTAL AIR WAR
4.VIETNAM BLACK OPS
5.WARCRAFT 2

Ya gotta beat the rest to be the best.
