A sad day, regardless of it's past problems this is a sad to to see the end of ÌÈÐ (MIR), sometimes History doesn't last long enough, and Mir certainly didn't, it was a great achievement at it's time and lived more than 10 years longer that it was designed for, problems and failures don't outway what was achieved by this now lost piece of history and world as well as Russian esteem.

{seems the message board doesn't like Russian characters)

Hehe...pay no attention to Werner. He's just exerting his powers as a post-mover. (And deleter, so I should probably not write this)

Yeah, it's a bit bad to see the Mir go. I actually saw it some days ago, at night.

Aye tis a sad day indeed. In a sense its falling represents an end of an era.

On another note it looked really cool plumeting to the Earth!

I saw the news video of it this morning. Cool! Nothing exciting ever happens here. I'll be surprised if some South Pacific tribe doesn't start wordshiping the lights in the sky. Mind you, it's better than leaving the friggin thing up there to fall on our heads one day. Scattering radioactive debris all over the tundra. Or worse, the fields where they grow the hops and barley used to make beer!

Muahaha, you're lucky I tossed this one out of my "jurisdiction".

No, actually, I probably spent five minutes on this, reaching for the mouse, then pulling back. Reaching, pulling back. Didn't want to offend, but then again you don't give a guy a broom to watch the dust collect.

No offense intended Nat, good post, a very noteworthy event in the history of space exploration. I second Vahnatai's remark though, I was rather hungry tonight.

Hey no worries Werner, I'll find a post from you one day to kick out LOL

Really though, you were right, and I was tempted to put it where it should go (here), but it was a noteworthy event I thought I'd stick it there till it got moved

Oh, I rarely get offended

LOL Good to know Nat.

I had the option of leaving a copy of it closed or deleting it, I chose the former. I figure that way people would still know where to find it.

Moving stuff around is a decision one shouldn't take lightly, but sometimes people just clutter things up. Anyone know what a "Hemi Cuda" is?

Been watching "Gone in 60 Seconds" again, Werner???

It's a Barracuda (the car) that's customized. You know the drill, bigger engine, cool paintjob, lowered suspnsion and so on.

Not necessarily customized semmern. You could buy a stock 'cuda with a 426 Chrysler hemihead off the showroom floor. Closest I ever came though was a 68 Charger with a 383. With a top end of 145 it was as hot as I wanted

"Chief, chief! A great demon is falling from the sky!"

"No, it's only a space station."

"But it's splitting up!"

"Yeah, it's a Russian space station."

"Oh, I see."
