Just remember you guys have a fornicated electoral system where you're not voting for the guy who's running but for the guy who'll elect the guy who's running. Almost as stupid as electing the guy who represents the party instead of you.IP: Logged |

He's a republican and as a republican he is doing what republicans do best, helping the wealthy people and corporations, who donated money to his campaign, as much as he possibly can while screwing everyone else. IP: Logged |

GIVE IT A REST!!!! They DID count all the contested votes after Bush was sworn in. HE STILL WON. (The margin was only a couple of hundred or so, but he still won.) NO MORE CRAP ABOUT WINNING UNFAIRLY. Snick

Whossis a George W. Bush? Don't matter if he's a Republican, Democrat, or Green-skinned egg-faced little X Files alien; if he's a politician, he can be bought. If anyone here can afford him, I could use a little extra myself. Hear we got a tax cut...not to worry, though...they'll make up the difference in sales, gas, pencil, paper, telephone, car, oil, property, internet, and utility taxes.
I hear we still have it better than some. Not as many as days of old, though.

Snickers, A democrat newspaper recently counted the votes spoiled by the confusing ballot and said Gore would have won. I think anyone who counts the votes will draw their own conclusions about who won. The point is the votes should have been counted by those whom FL law gave that responsibility to. That was the individual election boards in each county. Thanks to the US supreme court that didn't happen, therefore, Bush "won" unfairly.IP: Logged |

Hey smokey, Get over it big boy..... if the florida courts hadn't screwed it up in the first place, the supreme court wouldn't have had to decide it... so stop whining about that and bitch more about how the florida supreme court was found to issue an un-constitutional order, and that is what wasted the time. I don't see you flaming the florida supreme court for wasting time being biased. perhaps if you stopped quoting the democrat rags and started reading more then what the party tells you, you would actually know what happened.... but alas... you are bought and paid for by the dem's.... so I guess we can't expect objectivity from you......

The Florida supreme court was doing it's job, interperting Florida law. The US supreme court had no business stepping in. You republicans love states rights until something doesn't go your way, then you want to go crying to the feds to get your way.If you would bother educating yourself instead of just running your head you would know that a state doesn't even have to let their people vote. This is not unconstitutional. So how could anything the FL supreme court do regarding counting votes be unconstitutional. I think the number of republicans on the US supreme court had more to do with it than any "unconstitutionality". IP: Logged |

Hey smokey, to clarify 2 important things you purposely left out of your rambling that had basis in reality.... First, I am not a republican.... This is like the 3rd time I have told you this and refuse to listen.. so that just proves you are not listening... Second, only 2 of 9 members of the supreme court said that what florida did was not illegal. Which means that 2 democrats agreed that it was not a legal precedence since it was unconstitutional. It was the decision to prolong the counting process and I said in another post that was partisan, even if based on the florida laws...... so your lying is exposed for what it is.... lies... democrat spin doctoring on what actually happened. Perhaps if you could keep your facts straight about the people you were talking to... we would trust what you said more... but that just goes to show that you aren't paying attention, and that you aren't even close to reality in what happened. Perhaps if you told the truth and stopped paraphrasing what happened, you would get further.. but you prefer to take out of context snippets and declare them as truth.... ------------------ Mirthain=FC= IP: Logged |

If it looks like a republican, smells like a republican and SOUNDS LIKE a republican, it probably is a republican. The facts are: Five republicans voted to put Bush in office. Four others, usually refered to as "more liberal members of the court" voted not to. For all I know the four others may just be moderate republicans. I don't recall any of the court members being accused of being a democrat. [This message has been edited by Smokey (edited 03-20-2001).] IP: Logged |

Looks like an socialist, smells like a socialist, tastes like a socialist, must be a union rep. Well, just proves you aren't paying any attention to your politics then.... or you are reading more propaganda from comrade Al and bill.... who of course believe it was a conspiracy.... what else could it be? Especially after trying to change the voting rules in St. Louis mid-stream....then trying to change the voting rules in Florida mid stream.... sounds like that was the game plan from the beginning, we don't expect to win, so lets just cheat.... So don't feed me the bull about the demo's being all put out... they were trying to rig the election any way they could.....But the union lackies will of course shout they didn't do that.... of course, it looks like the same kind of spin doctoring to me. and just because I disagree with your soviet style of telling stories, I am a republican? Wow, really showing what kind stupidity is rampant on the street's these days. go back to your socialist master's at the union office and dream about the worker's paradise.... it ain't happening here... thank god. Soviet Union proved how well that works.....------------------ Mirthain=FC= IP: Logged |

It is a laugh to see liberals trying to accuse conservatives of voter fraud - that is role reversal -it's cute. But it is also funny to see the conservatives cry for federal intervention in what should clearly be state authority. It just goes to show that nature always takes its course, and people will fight for what they believe in, even if they have to make concessions... is this really a bad thing? At some level, we are all moderates... and so any weak person can call anyone else a hypocrite - it requires little justification, and less effort.
