Any of you British folk out there know about this radio station called Beat 106? I saw an awesome ad for it at adcritic.com tonight and I went straight to their website hoping to fine streaming audio of their broadcast, but I got a 404 on their site, www.beat106.com Are they so new that their site wouldn't be up, as advertised? Thanks, Werner ------------------ Visit Abbeville Field Today! IP: Logged |

I think I'm gonna explode! I can't find their site anywhere! www.beat106.com, www.beatfm.com, www.beat106.co.uk (haven't had a successfully connect on this one yet, but at least no 404) and www.beatfm.co.uk all duds! I've found plenty of other radio-related sites but they all link to www.beat106.com. I must get my hands on a .ram stream of this station!! LOL The descriptions of the station sound audio-licious!Does ANYONE know what the Beat 106 URL is and if they're site is just having problems or something? Werner, I just connected to it on this URL http://www.beat106.com/ It is a Scottish radio station that covers the best of Club Music, never listen myself but it is setup on my car radio for the other half (her fav radio station at present).
If that url does not work I can record some for you if you promise not to shoot me down anymore . IP: Logged |

Ack! It's still not connecting. No 404, just the page never comes up. DNS issue perhaps, or a crappy server on their end... who knows!?In any case, was there a streaming media link from their homepage Commando? Werner ------------------ Visit Abbeville Field Today! IP: Logged |

Yes, streaming radio from:- http://www.beat106.com/Beat106LiveStream.ram must be a DNS prob, try using these dns lookup nos
DNS 194.93.134.15 DNS 194.93.134.3 Now will stop firing at me !!!!! IP: Logged |

Eureka!Got to the site (which is a sweet one btw), got the ram stream running (thanks for the links) but no sound. hmm, I'll download realplayer again and see if that does the trick. As for those direct ip links, the first took me to a page that is blank and says "hello" at the top, and the second took me here: http://mirrors.intensive.net/ Anyhow, Commando, you're really nervous when I'm in an allied plane on your six, eh? Lucky for you what I can do in low-attendance (ie: no lag) practice missions can't be done in high-attendance (ie: lag) war missions. Twice now I've lost enough bullets into misplaced packets that your bacon has made it back to Tante Ju's ok. hehe, we'll have to see about that. Maybe if I can get this ram stream working. Werner the DUNs nos I quoted are addresses for Duns lookup servers, it is always useful to have a spare set from someone other than your current ISP so that if their DUNs lookup severs are down you can still get to the internet but just a bit slower. You use them by changing your dialup connection Duns nos to these, as I could see Beat106 and you couldnt I thought you would if you used my Duns lookup server nos, glad to see you didnt need to . Now you know why I like Scotland so much, much better taste in music than the POP rubbish touted from London.IP: Logged |

Ah, I've learned something today! Thanks again Comm. As for pop music, it is with a bit of woe that I notice even Beat106 isn't immune from some of North America's "finest" . I guess I had expected a little more European content and a little less Eminem, but it's still better than anything I've heard to date, including regular programming on Power 107, the station in town that's the closest to the format of Beat 106. It's pretty cool though, for all the junk that gets played on power, they have the Chris Sheppard radio show on Friday nights and Saturday it's 4 hours non-stop broadcast from a nightclub downtown.
