Ok folks, whether you have a Sega Dreamcast or not, if you like racing games/sims you MUST get Test Drive Le Mans! It's brilliant! Incredibly beautiful graphics, ultra-smooth fps (they 30 but it seems higher) with even all 24 cars on the screen! I got it the other day used at Software Etc and it's by far THE BEST game and racing sim I've yet to buy on my Sega DC or even my PC! It's hands down the most fun I've had with a game. When I walk out of the room and look back at the TV... I could swear it's a live television event. Yes it looks that great.

The handling of the cars is just fantastic, nice and tight grip and 40 cars to choose from (the black McClaren F1 is my fav) and 10 tracks. It has changing weather and time (while you are driving), it gets dark, starts to rain, stops raining.

Along with distinct engine sounds, the cars also exhibit realistic engine conditions, so that racers need to factor a pit strategy into their racing. Lighting effects around the tracks mimic the race's 24-hour cycle from day to night to day. Precise road conditions and collision effects allow for realistic crashes, spinouts, and flips. The Le Mans mode allows players to compete in a 24-hour race, or compress it into 10-minute, 30-minute, one-hour, or six-hour modes. Up to four players can compete simultaneously via a split screen. So far I've only done 2 players with my son and I, and NO SLOWDOWN whatsoever has ever been noticed! That alone is a huge accomplishment!

This darned game is keeping me up too late that's for sure. So even if you DON'T own a Dreamcast this game alone is a great reason to get one. Seriously, on a scale from 1 to 10 it's a 12!

Test Drive Le Mans for the Sega Dreamcast, racing perfection. The ONLY way it could be better is on an SVGA monitor for higher resolution.

Back to more racing.

Here's a nice review with pics and movies... http://dreamcast.ign.com/reviews/14869.html
