Just went to ToysRUs and they have some incredible WWII models. A gorgeous large Me109 for $29.95 with retractable landing gear and working canopy plus highly detailed pilot. Great collectors stuff here! And there is a P-51 of similar quality available although I didn't see one. They also had a Panther Tank (big!) for about $39, a HUGE M-5 Sherman for $199.95, Kettenkrads (German half tank/motorcycles), and other cool things and many action figures (12"). You have to see this stuff in person though, it's very impressive! This Spring they are coming out with Vietnam era models and hopefully some more WWII stuff. Ah yes I have seen these! (Have a few myself) Its amazing how the toys of today are looking in terms of accuracy. On another note, do you have any Armour collectors models? These I find are THE most detailed aircraft models period. (They are metal too!) IP: Logged |

Yeah, the 109 has a place of honor on top of a bookcase to the left of my computer. The only thing I hadn't noticed, and someone pointed out to me and I immediately noticed they were right, is that for what is probably an "E" model in regard to the elevator stabilizers, it has a Galland-type hood. Other than that, I think it is truly beautiful, and I tend to look at it a lot. I didn't like the P-51's paint scheme as much as the 109's. I wish they had done "Big Beautiful Doll." I saw some other company's '51 in the BBD scheme, but it was kind of out of whack, and didn't look near as good as the Ultimate Soldier planes. Good to hear I'm not the only middle-aged kid out there. Oh heck, I almost forgot where I was! Middle-aged Kid Heaven! Hee-hee! ------------------ Mk10 Maj=225th= IP: Logged |

Pete,I feared admitting this as I'm a grown adult... But, I have the entire WWII collection. I've got the soldiers... vehicals...and most importantly the aircraft. I had to "build" a display shelving to hold them! The tanks are massive) (My wife just does not understand this one..) [This message has been edited by Zurawski (edited 01-31-2001).] IP: Logged |

I couldn't take it! I just came home with the Me109 and the Panther Tank. This stuff is just too cool not to get, being a WWII fanatic and all Ok, just took the Me109 out of the box and put the wing on with the screw under the stand. Boy is this thing NICE! What a work of art, well worth the money. Next on my list will be the M4 Sherman and the P-51 if I can find it around here. They said their next shipment may have some. And down the road I'll get a Kettenkrad motorcycle/tank half-breed, maybe that huge M5 tank, and who knows what else. IP: Logged |

Guys, use caution if you go into Toys R Us. Once you see these models you may end up blowing a LOT of money. I was out again tonight and was trying hard to steer clear of that place, because they have a Sherman Tank in there with my name on it, also a Kettenkrad. IP: Logged |

It is safe however to go into a UK toys-r-us, they don't sell these yet. Behind the rest of the world again . Pete, emigrate and save a fortune, except when they are available just swop the $ for £ in the price, the numbers will stay the same . IP: Logged |
