I am so sick of everyone pusyfootin around and walking on eggshells around her!

For my sanity sake, please post a pic so we know what kind of chic we are dealing with.

Cough up a pic so we can move on.

And don't flame me for asking you pervs. You know your dying to see if she's a babe or a bowser. So save it!

Prop out!

Well, you know, I never much cared; she can fly better than I, so she's a babe in my book. But here's a idea: get some folk to send someone some pics of wives, sisters, girlfriends, mothers, whatever, and Maaco can send one, and have another contest. The winner has to pick Maaco out of the pics. If no one does, it stays secret.

The prize? You get a free copy of MY pic from the last photo contest.

But if I were her, I'd pass on the idea - it is kinda dumb. Which is how you can tell it's one of mine.

Hey prop,
Why don't you post a pic of your ugly face.
We could put it in the center of the dart-
board at Jade's. Come to think of it there is
talk of rats over there right now. Maybe you
could help get rid of them.

The internet is a very public place and not everyone wants their picture put out for all to see.

I'm getting some flak on this one so take it easy guys.

Propwash your approach to this request was not in the best taste. You been spending to much time in the lower end pubs and not enough in the library?

Nealg, I still think you and Kommando are brothers! For a while I thought you two were the same person but during the squad war it would be hard for you to fly a spit and a Ju88 at the same time. Well I haven't heard you yet on rw, do you have a Scottish accent? Well I wouldn't have posted what Prop did, he does speak his mind which I like. He also spoke some truth where "pusyfootin around and walking on eggshells around her", now I know he means, what does she look like or does he? I could care less about looks(I've got a wife and I love her very much). Most guys will bend over backwards if they know that handle goes with a woman but if it is just another guy they could careless. If I posted something here and you guys thought I was a women you would beat each other up just so you could post first and be the "Man" to answer the question. If you don't belive me then make a new handle come in an say "Hi I'm new to SDOE and I'm a woman" then ask some question which has been asked a lot of times with usually the return answer would be "do a search that question has already been answered". Maaco, I'm not blasting women here, I am also not saying this is what you do or did, I'm blasting the men here because they don't treat everyone the same!

Himdog; Nope, no scots' accent here. Welsh, a bit, though born in Nebraska.

I know what you are saying, though. To some, this is a big deal. For me, it never has been. A question is a question; even if I ever advised someone to do a search, I have learned you had better give them key words to use. The forum search thing works really well - if you use the right key words. Usually, if I have a answer, it is easier for me to just answer, or refer to a specific thread. If someone feels the need to 'pose', oh, well, more power to them. It does seem that people do tend to be more helpful if they think the asking is done by a female; that is usually more a reflection on the shallowness of the residents than anything else. I think the SDOE community overall has always shown that predominantly, we don't care if you are male, female, young, old, or fresh in from another galaxy - and that there is really no such thing as a dumb question, only ones we cannot answer.

Hehe...if I said I was in reality Tom Cruise or someone like that, to me you have 2 choices...accept it, or accept it. It matters little to me if one does or doesn't; I, or others, can always move on. But, I know not all are like that. So, really and truly, it doesn't matter to me.

Anyway, I have a couple of places I visit ( sometimes, hehe ) where that sort of stuff becomes a bit more important. And no, you may NOT have my Adult Check ID!!

Tom are we not friends? Well then could I please use your adult check id (whatever that is, but it sounds good)? I really shouldn't have used the words "blasting the men here" but have said something like "giving some of the people here a wake-up call on treating people the same regardless of sex, race, ect".

As far as "in game " questions go, I try not to inject gender into any aspect of it.

Now, in other sections of this forum I try to get advise from you guys because we have a broad cross section here, and most of you seem to be decent guys.

Some of my questions may appear dumb and I admit that. I'm not new to SDOE, but as far flight sims in general, I am in relative newbie.

All in all, I just want to be one of the guys I guess and learn about computers and flight sims from the vast pool of know-how here.

I'm not afraid to post a pic. I have personal ads out there on the net and do alot of chating with guys. I have even considered posting one due to some thinly vailed requests.

I guess it's just that I want to be "one of the guys" in most situations.

Thanks your time and support in the past.

Maaco....

There will always be those of us eager to helpanyone in need of advice. I will always chime in...even if I have answered a question a gazillion times. Why? Because almost two years ago, in my SDOE infancy, I visited a site that was run by Pete Hawk and found the wonders of such things as HUD's and padlocks. Before that, I had no idea about them!! (Come to think of it- maybe I would've been a better pilot if I had never become reliant on these handicaps I learned about online, and after much inner-conflict- decided to try it out. I remember to this day the help that Gustang gave me that day...and there were no fliers there that immediately pounced on the fresh meat that was ripe for the picking (although I must admit some present pilots wouldn't hesitate!).

I have not had the pleasure of flying online with you yet, but my squaddies speak highly of you. I am just happy to see a member of the opposite gender interested in this genre...my wife sure doesn't understand my interest in it (Do you think you could talk to her?)

As far as Propwash, he (or she )is part of the atmosphere here....he is kinda like a younger sibling that is always trailing behind you when you don't want them around....he'll lose interest again and fade away....only to come back a few weeks down the road to stir us up again You come to appreciate these guys for what they are ---- Siggi-wannabe's!! But there is only one Siggi- and we admire him for it :P He is also one hell of a resource for modeling...I have a Il-2 skin to prove it...although the black wash didn't come out right....

Jesus I am rambling....Maaco-- anytime you have a question-- ask away....one of us old farts will help you out....

Rattlesnake!! Where the heck you been hiding? Well, as a matter of fact, I have posted it several times...yup, and proud of it. Not that the subject comes up much - or really matters. Not that I make it too public, you understand...can't take chances on the extradition laws.

Himdog: well, now that my secret is out...and listen, don't ask, I never really married that actress ( what was her name again? ), I know nothing about her, whoever she was. What? Whatever a adult check ID is? Oh, no - you subscribe directly to the GOOD sites?!! Oh, and - well - the truth? Naw, I hate jets....that wasn't really me in that Top Gun thingie! Personally, I find needlepoint more to my taste ( uh oh.....here come the flames from the Tom Cruise fans! )...OK, OK, I lied!! I'm really Keanu Reeves ( is it only me, or does that name sound faintly feminine?)..no, no, wait! I am...I am...I am so conFUSED!!

I've been around but I guess I have pretty much just been in "lurk-mode". I still visit the forum every other day or so. Havent taken the opportunity to fly on-line for quite a while but have kept up-to-date with the plane packs, etc.. SDOE is still my favorite flight-sim and the only game I play on-line. d0gmA recenlty turned me on to emulated arcade games (all the ol' favorites) so they are the only games I have played recently.

Hope to get some on-line flying in one of these evenings. When is a good time anymore?

rattlesnake - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday evenings seem pretty active still ( evening here in Calif.; a bit later as ya move east, strangely enough..hehe ). Saturdays during the squad wars have become pretty active also. Actually, I haven't been on much lately myself...I am guilty of having a affair with one of the new sims. To protect the innocent, I won't name it, but if you recall, I do have a liking for the Spitfire. One problem with it, though...it works about as well online as B17II does....hehee.

No way, Maaco!! And get shot down by you again?? I think not! Maybe a few of us =FC= can waddle by - Lord knows we can use the practice.

Noone can say your not one of the boys in your flying Maaco.....
But most of the guys here will give you special treatment in the forums because you are woman... we are just pathetic that way... ;} We can't help it.....
And it is unusual for a woman to be interested in Combat sims, so we really don't want the only woman who actually understands what we are talking about to leave... LOL
No worries about the younger members of the group... they will grow up someday.. We hope....
Damn, has to be so late on a thursday.... That's midnight my time.... I would love a rematch, so if you get a chance, give us early rising east coaster's some time on the weekends... ;}

Hey Smokey, at least he's tryin, huh?

Mirth, you girly-man sissy-boy, good to see you hear outside of Flames Wars. Rarely do our paths cross outside of that Hallowed Domain, and let me say that I think of you highly as a virtual flyer, and a lover of all that make up good combat sims in general.

Also Mirth, the only time I got to fly with you was in one of the first SDOE Wars, and I remembered listening to you all tell us what you think we should do, and actually I don't think I got to fly with you, but wound up in a mission with some folks ahead of you, but don't worry, there wasn't a whole lot of people offering ideas, and it was good to hear some from you.

That day will always go down in my mind as one of the best days I have ever spent on this planet, outside of watching your kids pop out of a human being you love, as that was the day that me, Spyder, oh heck, I think wolf was there, and Sparky took out a whole, entire slew of 262's with P-51's.

So old chap, no matter what I say to you in the "Naughty Arena", don't think I want to carry it over to here.

And you bet that gentlemen like Mirth and myself will always make sure our favorite female fighter flyer will always receive red-carpet treatment around here.

Maaco, you are few and far between, but if you spread the word of how easy it is to "shoot down" a bunch of guys, maybe it'll catch on!

Hey, and what did you think of our squadron's webpage?

We were there---- we were probably just in a game. I was on from around 9:30 your time to around 10:30....do you have SDOE Beeper? It is a utility that tells you if people are online or not. I didn't see old PW either....but there were about 8 of us....me, Bulldog, Luny, Gremlin, GroundPounder, AceII, Captain Blood, and a few more I am forgetting. Most of us are on everynight-- but the real crowds come out on the weekends....Saturday night (starting 1:30 PM your time), we have weekly squad wars and many show up then-- and many stay all night

You missed a good opportunity to shoot my butt down in a Lanc too Hey wtg--- we need a DM for that thing already
