Spanky here...

Got this off ars technia,
http://mitpress.mit.edu/e-books/Hal/

Its looking pretty interesting.
As ars put it.I realize that you guys don't need another A.C. Clarke 2001 reference, but while reading this Scientific American article on the hits and misses of the movie's predictions on AI, I found a nice link to the online book, "HAL'S LEGACY: 2001's Computer as Dream and Legacy." The book is a collection of essays by such luminaries as Raymond Kurzweil, Donald Norman, and Dan Dennett, on a variety of computing topics inspired by HAL, such as artificial emotions, supercomputer design, and computer ethics. Many thanks to MIT press for sharing this book with the Internet community. -Will Ryu

ars technia is a pc tech and new technology site, really great site I check it a couple times a day. and its not full of a butch of mother board and vid card reviews but more whats goign on in PC and tech world.
