Radio interview

This is an exact replication of National Public Radio (NPR) interview between a female broadcaster, and US Army General Reinwald, Who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military installation.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Reinwald, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?"

GENERAL REINWALD: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery, and shooting."

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: "Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?"

GENERAL REINWALD: "I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range."

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: "Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?"

GENERAL REINWALD: "I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm."

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: "But you're equipping them to become violent killers."

GENERAL REINWALD: "Well, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?"

The radio went silent and the interview ended.

All I could think was, "Go Army!"

Yeah, I know what you mean about the liberal media. When the election fiasco was going on, the liberals complained that the minorities were being discriminated against. It made big headlines. But when the case went to court they could not produce one shred of evidence! That didn't make the headlines. So if you were in the liberal minority all you would think happend is that you were discriminated against and nothing was done about it.

Hate to throw cold water on you guys (again), but that is another one of those bogus stories that gets bandied about the Internet every once in a while. There was never any such interview. Sorry... I know many Conservatives relish the idea that, finally, a know-it-all, busy-body liberal from NPR got put in her place... and by a General, no less. But the truth is it just didn't happen. It's a funny story, but it's not real. You guys will have to look elsewhere for the mother of all comeback lines.

So, in reality, what you guys are victims of is Conservative Propaganda. Just like the Al Gore vs. Christians story, the Al Gore zinc mine story, the Al Gore claimed he invented the Internet story, the Hillary killed Vince Foster story, etc. The real question you guys should be asking is why are Conservatives putting disinformation on the Internet? Considering the fact that Conservatives claim to be righteous and truthful, I find this a bit hypocritical.

By the way, not all liberals are against guns. I'm a liberal who has always been interested in guns and I'm also supportive of gun rights. I've even enjoyed firing off a few rounds at a practice range a couple of times.

Cheers!

Maybe Conservatives put disinformation on the internet because the established press is too busy publishing liberal disinformation.

Heh... well, of course Liberals are also guilty of spreading disinformation. The difference is, they're generally much better at that sort of thing... or at least more sneaky about it. Liberals tend to push their agenda by implying or inferring things... for instance, the whole Ashcroft thing... no one has come out and called the guy a rascist, but the implication is out there. Is the guy a racist? Probably not... but he will have a tough time beating the stigma.

Conservatives, on the other hand, have a much more 2 dimensional approach... they will simply put a lie out there and hope it has legs.

Also, Conservatives tend to think they're endorsed by Christ, so I think it's a little more hypocritical for them to behave this way :-)

Either way, it's pretty pathetic on both sides.

Right on JT! The depressing thing is how many people believe the most random things that they hear on the Internet... as if everything goes through a "truth" filter before your browser will download it. Maybe IE should have a dialog right when you boot up that says, "Warning, you are about to enter an area of unknown truthfulness, do you wish to continue?"

cheers,

This story is obviously bogus, but:

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: "But you're equipping them to become violent killers."

Of course they are. That's why the military gets guns, so they can violently kill the enemy with them. Sure, we'd rather avoid it, but that is the whole point of an armed military. Why don't you conservatives say it loud and say it proud?, did you think they were only used as wacky flower holders or soemthing?

You guys have this all wrong! It's not the conservatives that are spreading these rumors about the liberals. It's the liberals spreading rumors about themselves! I know you think this sounds absurd but listen. They do it so that when the real truth comes out, it doesn't have the same impact. So it's like:
Bill Clinton had an affair with Monica Lowinski ... Just another rumor ...
The 'Reverend' Jesse Jackson counceled the president but he was having an affair that produced a 'Love child'. ... Just another rumor ...
Well I don't know about you but I'm going to fight this underhanded method. I'm just gonna beleive all this stuff about them liberals.

Isn't this fun?
