HAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHHhahaahah....er They weren't joking were they...... Unless, of course, Rowan were trying to re-create Grandads slide show of 'What he Did in the War' and we just confused it with a game!

I run the demo on a p3 700 with an original geforce just fine. It stutters a tad but its not too bad.IP: Logged |

I have the full UK version on a PIII500E with 256 Mb RAM and a 32Mb GeForce2MX, and at 1024x768x32 ( with clouds off ) I am getting pretty good performance. This is from a gun camera film I did in a One on One dogfight mission while I was trying to figure out how to do screens. I still get some stutter, but it is so seldom that in a fight I don't even notice it.

wt; well, once you see them in this one, it is very hard to do without them. But with them on, my system takes a royal frame hit, and the sim becomes unflyable for me. This was at 800x600x16 and 32, and 1024x768x16. So I have left them off, trading sky banding for no banding in 32 bit. There are still some clouds...selectable in missions...but the main clouds are just awesome. With the targeting 'cheats' off, you can easily escape pursuit in them...heck, you can become completely disoriented! It does seem to affect systems differently, though - this is such a terribly hardware punishing sim. KC23 at simHQ runs with clouds on and it runs well for him, and he has system specs in some ways lower than mine. I think there are some screens at simHQ that show the cloud effects; I still am experimenting some to see if I can get them back on, but am afraid I will have to lower other settings way too far. The dang thing just wasn't finished enough for release! Hehe...gee, never heard THAT before, have we?

Thanks for the update....Not good for Rowan, coz the clouds were one of the things I actually liked! My machine isn't vastly different to yours, so it sounds like I would have to trade too much for the things I want. Clouds make combat much more challenging! I had to turn all the detail settings down to run the demo before I upgraded, and the planes looked tacky and cartoony, the ground was so awful ( Mig Alley 'lumpy forests' ) that I kept well up in the sky.... Rowan......you should be ashamed of yourselves! This is not the first very unfinished product you have sold, so why? Didn't Mig Alley teach you anything! A good game spoilt by chronic instability.
