This might change my mind about getting Rowans Battle of Britain. http://www.bombs-away.net/ubb/Forum12/HTML/000799.html IP: Logged |

I won't touch it with a very long barge-pole until they sort out the technical probelms! The campaign may be great, but the sim demo was buggy, stuttered unless I lost all the detail, and felt horrible to fly. It needs a patch, it needs a better pc ( which I now have) and it needs to generally get it's act together. I have a serious problem with parting with a big slice ( for me ) of hard earned cash for a product that causes more grief than pleasure! When I think it is good enough, I'll buy it. Seems that the sim world is already putting in some of the hours Rowan should have.......... IP: Logged |

I have the full (UK) version of BoB. I won't go into detail, but after 2 weeks I finally have settings that are good for me. But attendant system problems caused by upgrading and tweaking to get it to run are still messing with me. Mostly video changes I had to make. Some of the problems are with the new card and drivers, which I have to mention just to be fair. But I put the new card in before getting BoB and everything, including B17II, was working beautifully. It was only after BoB that problems surfaced. Beyond that, I now have BoB set where I enjoy it, and I must say, it is thoroughly enjoyable. Problem is, next time I boot it up, a new problem may appear. I sure would not recommend this sim to anyone who enjoys playing a game out of the box; this thing is for those who enjoy 3 minutes of playing, then 1 hour of tweaking, then 3 minutes of playing, then 2 hours of tweaking...
