I just found out one of the gentlemen that helps usher in our church is a WWII and Korean war pilot- and an ace!

His nickname is "Ace" and he still flies.

Looks like I'm going to be buying someone lunch or dinner. A friend of mine that knows about him told me he loves to talk about the birds he flew.

Details to follow . . .

"Where'd he GO!?!?"

Be sure to thank him for his service in Korea when you talk to him. Maybe if he gets comfortable, you could invite him to post here. I'd love to hear his stories first hand.

I used to volunteer at a military museum in town, and each time I'd be paired up with a vet to do hosting as people would come in. Sometimes it would be a WWII vet, another time this lady that was a young girl during the time Holland was occupied, but my favourite guy to work with was a Tank Driver who fought in Korea. It's amazing to have the opportunity to hear their stories first hand. I agree mirth, I think Korea vets must feel as though they showed up five years late for the 'party', at least in the eyes of history. Tragic.
