VP Al Gore, in his book EARTH IN BALANCE, p. 342 weasel" Guess what... there is no such quote in Earth in the Balance. Al Gore never wrote or said anything like that. That quote was a fabrication bandied about on the internet. Weasel... as someone who has, on this message board, accused Al Gore of being a liar, you should be ashamed. What really bothers me is that when people like Weasel perpetuate lies like that, it's almost impossible to fight them. Lies and sensational claims usually get lots of attention and spur lots of discussion. Correcting those lies and sensational claims usually gets little attention and spurs little discussion. This is true in all media... TV, newspapers, radio, the internet... this forum.The worst part is that people like Weasel are never held accountable for spreading nonsense like that. Yes, you get credit, SV!I feel bad for attacking Weasel so harshly. After all, he was willing to admit that he goofed and he even provided evidence that the quote was phony. But whoever fabricated that quote and attributed it to Gore should get clobbered! :-) Seriously, both sides have plenty of real stuff to disagree about without people making stuff up.
