Spanky here...

me and mad dog have been playing for a week. Kicks ass.

Its a REAL 4x4 simulation.

If you play in total manual mode you can control your transfer case for 2 or 4 wheel drive.

Control both the front and back diff locks.

control the high and low gear range.

and of course the gears.

See how non locking diffs slip like crazy.

Man now I know for sure that I want full locking diffs. Not those limited slip suckers alot of 4x4s are shipped with.

You do have to try to get a good time but you also have to get through tight gates on some good terrain.

The demo takes you through a short championship of a couple races but there is an 8 minute time limit.

If it kicks you out you start on the level you were on.

Anyways try it out of your into 4x4s or even if your just into a different driveing sim.

Good find Spanky, I have 18 years of off road experience. (Jeep CJ 7 with Chevy 350 V8 and Lockers in front and back diffs, 35" Super Swampers)

This is the closest to the real thing I have found yet.

Even some of the old tricks work, if you get stuck in the mud or tring to go up a hill try turning the wheel left and right while giving it some gas. Yes this actually works in the game.

As in real life there are places that you just can't drive out of. I learned this rule a long time ago...

NEVER drive where you can't see. If you don't know what is over the ridge, or how deep the mud is.... get out and look. (I have been in water so deep that it covered the windshield)

In cockpit view is pretty realistic too. (Turn head left and right) Plus Bumper view and outside views.

Thanks again Spanky, I can't wait for this to come out.

Cool.

I don't have a 4x4 right now, in fact I don't have a car at all.

But I'm thinking of getting (when I can afford it) a late 80s wagoneer or cheerokee with the inline 6, 4 liter.

Then I will slap a small lift and some decent sized wheels, Not 35s but a bit larger then standard.

Then some lockers.

Man that game really shows you the advantage of lockers.

I'm not really into mud, I want to do rock crawling and stuff.

I know a jeep would be better But I need something that can carry stuff too.

Sounds like a great machine man, I envy you.

Gotta Pic?
