I've had it since release but it ran to slow to play back then.

With more ram and slightly more cpu power its chugging along at an acceptable 6-8 FPS.

I know that sounds low to people that havn't play it but it really is ok.

PLaying PE at 20FPS would be a dream.

Yep sure is, One of the best if not THE best ww2 tank sims to date.

There has gotta be someone out there with this game?

I have PzCommander, and didn't buy PzElite thinking I would get the next generation of wwii tank sim (I usually leapfrog games: I own sdoe, thus skip CFS2, buy IL2, etc) but it appears that there will be no 'next generation' of wwii tank sim for some time...

Yeah it sure it hard.

I was getting my butt kicked, until i read the articles on tanking on simhq.com.

That really helped.

I find the main things i changed was now i really take my time moving from hull down position to hull down position and using my binocs F5.

Also tell your squad to stop and wait while you recon or use them for recon, Remmeber use them for recon not cannon fodder as the missions usually require that you have some tanks besides you still alive.

Send them into hull down positions so they have some cover.

Button up any time your in combat. Your the most important peice of the puzzle if you die so does the mission.

Watch your six, I don't know how many time my guys spotting AT guns behind me in new territory that i had just moved into.

When gunning for your tank (ya just gotta do it) use the zoom function if your using german optics. Z.

Thats all the main things i can think of.

I still suck ass though.

Yes you can turn that overlay off.

Its damn handy though you can move it anywhere on the screen and resize it to tiny.

If you don't want to use it you will have to learn all the key commands for controlling your tank and squad.

And views.

Not that its impossible cause we do it in flight sims, but it doesn't bug me.

Infantry are 2d sprites, I know that sucks but it works.

There is no aircraft. they wanted to do it in a mission pack disk or #2.

I think it is the next gen ww2 tank sim.

I tried the pzcommander demo and it just didn't give me the sence of being there that PE does.

I would say it should be cheap but its actually really hard to find.

I find its almost smooth even at 9 FPS.

Edit config to fps=1 to show the frame rate. It's in data\PE_Game.ini.

once you see whats going on in the background in PE you'll see why its so system draining.

When ever anyone says why do we need these 1.5 GHZ monster chips, just tell them SDOE and PE.

Nope not as right now that I know of.

I would think that wings simulations would want to do another one. I know they had talked about it.

THey are hiring for something so maybe its another tank sim, althought they were also interested in flight sims too.

I say why wait for # or any other new ww2 tank sims when this one is here?

You need a smoking computer to get it to run really nice with everything on though.
