I just find this funny.

Remember when Gore ran for the presidency last time? I don't, but he did. Anyway, when he lost he anounced that "he was quiting politics forever" and gave up politics. He only came back when Clinton asked him to be his running mate.

Anyway, it is interesting to see this peronality triat play out here. Why did Gore conced too early? Even the press said that he would not / should not conceed until the morning - it is just to close.

I think he conceeded early becuase he can act like a real baby, I can just see it - the anger and frustration! "That's it, Im done. Damnit damnit I give up!!! Call Bush, I give up, he wins - damn him!!! This will show everyone, I'm just gonna conceed right now, grrrrrr."

And also, how quick to un-conceed heheh, "wait, there is a chance in hell? I;m gonna win again! Check it off, mark it, I wil win again!!!"

I don't hold this against Gore, I like a competetive spirit. I only don't like his attitude about the election process he has recently taken. The idea tat we need to look at the "fairness of the system" implies that he is willing to through the rules away if it might help him.

If this ends up as a legal battle, it will only hurt the image of the Clinton/Gore way of doing things. I hope he goes gracefully (if he loses) - like some suggest. And most importantly, I hope Bush conceeds quickly if the recount shows Gore is victor there - but I am confident he will conceed if that happens. If he does not, then I don't want him in anyway...

Sv - I recall another somewhat well known politician who said the same thing....his name was Richard Nixon.

Personally, I thought Nixon was a great President. Others didn't...a matter of perspective and realism, I guess.

The only thing I am trying to say is, if this indeed happened, it may be better all the way around if Gore doesn't win. Then again, the public view has changed radically in 30 years...if Nixon were president today and the same situation occurred, I wonder if the result would be the same.

We have always survived our scandals, dirty deals, and wars...but each time the country comes out changed. For the better? Again, a matter of personal perspective. From a historic standpoint, the Gore situation would be interesting to compare to historical precedent.

Sorry for the awkward wording.
