This really works and you don't need to lower your sound card acceleration setting. Go into your system properties (RIGHT click on "My Computer" icon), click on Device Manager tab. Scroll down to Sound, Video and game controllers (I'm using Win98). Highlight "Creative Advanced Wave Effects Synthesis for AWE32" (for AWE32) or similar setting for AWE 64. Click on properties now. UNCHECK "Exists in all Hardware Profiles" and then CHECK "Disable in this hardware profile. Click OK. Go fly CFS II and your sound / frame rate stutter problems should vanish! Mine did This game is so fun! Thanks everyone for all the great posts about how cool it is. It really does rock! IP: Logged |

This should apply to any soundcard that uses wavetable emulation effects. I believe most SoundBlaster cards do. My AWE 32 does.IP: Logged |

My problem with sound is many times, after skipping to the next waypoint, my gun and cockpit sounds disappear.IP: Logged |

Try hitting Q twice (sounds off, sounds on). I've heard some people doing this and it helps. Still, must be a bug or something.IP: Logged |

OK...under my sound, video, and game controllers section, I have the following:Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI 64D Gameport Joystick SB AudioPCI 64D Legacy Device Wave Device for Voice Modem If these changes you speak of can be made to one of these, can you tell me which one? I don't see anything about "Creative Advanced Wave Effects Synthesis for AWE32". Help!!! ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! Jeeves =FC= IP: Logged |

Jeeves, I'm not sure. If there is a setting that allows you to disable it just try it, see if the game works better, and go on from there.Trial and error. IP: Logged |
