This was resampled down from 1600x1200. Every detail slider is maxxed out.

I found that CFS2 neeeds more than 128mb of memory.. as soon as I popped in another 64 megs the pauses when data gets swapped to disk disappeared. You can also smooth things out by turning your texture and terrain detail settings down to conserve memory.

OMG
You should see the puddle of drool on my desk at seeing that.

If only I could buy more ram, the video card, and the game.

LoL! I get thoe kind of framerates when its just me in the air at 1600x1200 on full blast graphics. (With any more it drops down to the 20's and teens. With explosions and that many planes, down to the single digits) How are your framerates at that res with 10+ planes in the air?

How do you get screen shots in CFS2?
And where are they stored?

One other question. As far as filters go on the video setup. Shoud I use them or not? And what do they do?

Thanks,

~Maaco~

I setup a 14 plane dogfight with medium clouds and rain at sunsetat 1600x1200 and it was mostly 30-50 FPS with drops down to 20 and spikes up to 90.

The reason my FPS is so low in that shot is it's a campaign with about 20 planes and 8 ships just out of view.

I notice the 2d cockpit seems to slow things down by about 10fps compared to the high detail 3d cockpit. Dunno if thats a CFS2 issue or a driver issue.

Macco, just press the print screen key then alt-tab back to windows start up your favourite paint program and press control-V to paste the image in and then save out as .jpg

Filters: they keep the textures from looking blocky by applying a smoothing algorithm. I'd definitely use at least bilinear filtering. The detail textures option is a good one to try.. it seems to improve the graphics with no hit to FPS.
