My first Jap mission set on hard! Man, this campaing rocks! And boy is it challenging! Anywho, here we go!Lets start this puppy, but the engine is skrewing up, I keep trying and eventually it catches. On I go to attack the lexington! Almost immediatly I am right behind a Grumman Wildcat! Pushing the attacks, I defend the torpedo planes long enough for them to smash the carrier good! After that, MORE DESTRUCTION! I find another Wildcat and pounce! A Wildcat pounces on me! I swing around, do a few manuevers, a few loops, and I'm on his tail! Arghhh... Damn flak! One more Grumman and I'm on my way home. So, I am badly damaged and on my way home. I get to the carrier and my planes all fudged up and its hard to fly. I come in, the LSO says "Wave Off!" I say, "Skrew you, I know what I'm doing!" Or so I thought. What I had neglected to take into consideration was that the flight characteristics had changed with all of the damage. From this screenshot I will let you guess what happened. ;) IP: Logged |

I'm not ragging...and I'm glad you enjoy the game... but... I noticed in your pictures you were pretty successful dogfighting the Wildcats (doing loops and shit) with a payload of two bombs on your wings... hmmmm... Is the game really that good? Or is it just that it is so pretty? IP: Logged |

I play at high resolution and have to scale the pictures down when I post them its probably why they look abit different. TS IP: Logged |

Well, the game kicks ass! The bombs I was carrying was only a small pair. Maybe 30k each. And after I dropped them I was able to fly better. The payloads make it a bit sluggish. And if you will notice my plane is really shot up, so they will still get ya, but I reccomend putting it on hard campaign, otherwise they take a while to attack. I seriously reccomend this game to simmers! Check this shot out! A friend in Peril How dare you Yankees shoot down my wingmen! Whoops! Someones fillin' my tail with lead! Alright biotch!! I pull afew manuevers and get on his tail, "This is for shootin me you Yankee Bastard!" Don't ya just love cannons? Check this out, I pull up beside him and snap this one. "Oh, I'm sorry, did you need those?" He he he, I still haven't beaten this mission yet! [This message has been edited by Aladar (edited 10-21-2000).] IP: Logged |

Here's a few shots at 1600x1200 32bit color. I scaled them down to 800x600. It's a pretty decent sim. I don't think its a good as everyone keeps raving about. The aircraft environment and immersion are definitely on par with Falcon 4 and EECH. But some big time flaws come out really fast. The collision detection is just as bad as the original CFS, so you are constantly dying by getting too close to someone. And the damage model seems funny. The least little bit of damage and you aircraft can barely roll or turn...and I'm talking about not getting hit in the wings or tail section either. I haven't tried the campaign yet, so can't comment on it yet. But the frame rates are decent at high res and it's pretty fun to fly. I hope B17 II is better. IP: Logged |

For another kick try disabling auto mixture, and do the engine start manually with the checklist ! Magnetos, prop pitch, mixture, cowl flaps, fuel tank selector, it's all there.. TS IP: Logged | |
