I just got the game yesterday. It looks good. But it doesn't see my joystick. (Microsoft precision pro) Yes, it is enabled and calibrated. The computer sees it. It works fine in FSDOE. What can I do?? Im not going to fly this sim with a mouse or keyboard. And the video is jerky. I have an AMD800 and 256 pc133 ram w/ gforce64 vid card. Someone please help me! ~Maaco~ IP: Logged |

I know you don't want to hear this but my pre pro USB is working great with it.. I'm not using the profiler though, I just load the game it automatically set the controller to pre pro USB. Maybe try without the profiler loaded? What sort of audio card do you have, is the game still jerky with audio disabled? TS IP: Logged |

Maybe im an idiot. But what do you mean by "disable audio"? Its a "Soundblaster Live" card. And do you mean, disable the profiler or delete it? I don't use it anyway. ~Maaco~ IP: Logged |

A soundblaster live card should be fine.. I was talking to a fellow the other day who had an older soundblaster that was making the game stutter. I just meant disable the profiler.. thats really strange I hope you get it working.. TS IP: Logged |

Maaco, I'm probably telling you something you already know, but you might try the combatsim.com CFS 2 forum. Seems to be pretty darn active. Hope you get it straightened out soon, and we'll start looking for you again in the skies! ------------------ Mk10 Maj=225th= IP: Logged |

Ah, back in our comfy little forum. I think I got the fix.Its kinda funny, they are already saying that EAW of all sims is better than CFS2, lol. Personaly I don't care for EAW at all, but each to his or her own, Thanks for the sugestions, ~Maaco~ IP: Logged |

I tried the fix they sugested, and still no luck. I tried to go in and individualy set the control assignments, x, y, rudder, etc. When I go into the individual config section and double click on a function the computer compleatly freezes. I mean, I have to hard boot the damn thing! I have run a full scandisk and defrag. For god sake its an MS stick! It should work perfectly with in an MS game! I'm ready to return this game today. Tired of messing with it! ~Maaco~ IP: Logged |

That is sad. MS product not working with MS game...I wish I had some knowledge to help, but it works fine with my SB Live and CH setup; I even use CH's profiler thingy to program the keys with no problem. One would think MS would have tested it with their own equipment and the more commonly used peripherals at the least. One thing I can think of from what I've read, and a long shot...are you using Win98 or Me? I understand a few have had probs with WinMe, though it appears to be isolated and not wide spread. What a bummer! ------------------ nealg=FC=
I just looked at another forum, and though didn't find anything specific, maybe you can....try www.combatfs.com and go to the CFS2 forum. If you haven't already tossed this sim back, that is...and I wouldn't blame you.

And remember to disable/remove/shoot with a 45 until good-and-dead all anti-viri and crash-guard programs.Unfortunately, there are a million things to check to fix a problem like yours. Try getting the latest SoundBlaster Live driver from Creative Labs. As I'll have become a long dead cold rotting corpse before I install another Microsoft "flightsim" on any of my computers, I'm afraid I can't test the game for you (I do have a pre pro and a SB Live). PS, I'm a little tense as I've got to pack everthing up and move back to California from NJ in 6 days. I haven't even started disconnecting and repacking. Ugh! And no, for those who remember, I'm not going back to work for Activision!!!!!!! IP: Logged |

Well, I wouldn't return it if you really want a Pacific sim; there aren't any others coming out. I had a problem with force feedback on my MS FF pro, although not the same problem you describe. I discovered MS had a driver patch for its joysticks which solved the problem for me. If you keep on trying to find a solution, I'm sure you will eventually. PCs are like that...IP: Logged |
