I still am not over it, and I am still fighting the tears. Well, its gonna be hard on my family, and espescially on my sister, this cat helped her alot. Ughh... Gracie Lou Dawson, we will miss you, Love ya.

Aladar - you take all the time necessary. A pet is like a family member - to some of us, it is a family member - and the loss can be terrible. You take care of your sister and help her through this.

Try loosing a cat that grew up with you. She died when we both were 16. Talk about something that is hard to get over.

Sad

My cat (Kitten-Kitty) was hit by a car last year during the cold winter. He was gone for three days... I thought he was gone forever. Then I called him one moring at 5:00 am, he came running! I went upstairs with him, he loked kinda ratty, and there was dried blood in his eyes. We took him to the vet right away.

He was almost dead - dehydrated. The doc said he was probably out cold for a couple of days... he had a broken jaw and other smaller wounds - we had to wire his jaw.

He is better now, but it is funny to me how much that effected us, especially when compared to losing my father in law a few weeks back, probably the most important person to me outside of my own family.

I think it is because cats (and dogs too I guess, etc.) live such a mysterious life... my cat spent much time hunting mice and robins - a very good hunter. Slinking along at night in the still cold quiet, how many stories was he never able tell me?

Sorry man,....I had a dog that was sheltie/boarder collie mix that just died this last july, We got him from the humane society when i was about 8 and he wasnt even puppy but still young, he died just 2 months after my 17th birthday while we were away vacation. But we never were exactly sure how old he was.....

Its still strange not seeing him around anymore, I always still expect him to be lying around in his usual spots and hes not there.

wow, this is depressing
