Hi guys, I was thinking of buying a new SB live value this weekend.

Well this is my delima, I have a lead on one for $80 Canadian and thats fine with me but its a SOUND BLASTER LIVE 256.

I looked at creatives site and they don't even have that listed.

The value is 512 voices, DOUBLE the 256 and although I can't see that mattering to me very much.

So whats up wiht this, Is it a bastard child that CLs doesn't want to admit it made>? Maybe an OEM only card>?

Anyone have it and is there much different about it besides the fact that its 256 voices>?

I have a Soundblaster Value which I bought which has 1024 voices ?. It also has a check box in the system section of control panel where you can select the no of synth voices as 128, 256, 512 or 1024, this does not seem to affect SDOE sound quality, what does affect it is a further option (cant remember where to find it) where you can select the number of simultanous wav sounds allowable. Sorry cannot be more helpful.
