You asked for it I have a different pic about every week, something I find on the net and make my desktop image. I clean out all my desk-top files about every month... Oh yea, and I rebuild my entire system from scratch about every 3 months -Sv [This message has been edited by Sv (edited 09-11-2000).] IP: Logged |

I really like some of those images. Pete, where did you get that one? This one is based off of a t-shirt I used to have. I need to find a more distinct spiral galaxy image for it, though. IP: Logged |

If I remember right Mighty I got it from Skinz.org for one of those Litestep type programs. I liked it so much when I went back to the regular desktop I kept it. One of the nicest graphics I've seen yet [This message has been edited by Pete Hawk (edited 09-12-2000).] IP: Logged |

Jeeves, the simplest way is to tap Print Screen. That copies the screen to the Windows clipboard. Paste that into a paint program. Save it as a JPG and then you need a web site to post it to so that you can refer to it in your message, here.Spanky, that blueprint-like image is pretty sharp. IP: Logged |

Thanks Mighty...Well, I tried it to see if I could post mine, and got as far as finding it in clipboard...but when I went to paste it to alter in Paint, it wouldn't work...aww well-- I'll give you three guesses as to what my desktop features anyways...no surprises here ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! Spanky here... Hehe boy you guys are messy, You should see my hard drive though, stuff all over the place. LOL yeah that Blueprint was originaly just a reg line drawing but I made it a negative and then colorized it with blue, It came out pretty cool looking. It looks alot better without the JPG compression. I think i might do it again with another one, cause i'm getting board of my present desktop. IP: Logged |

So what size monitors are you guys running on? Me, a 19" Princeton. I had a ViewSonic but it had serious bowing along the top edge so I switched.Tailslide, you seem to have a huge monitor there, 21" or bigger? IP: Logged |

I have a 21" viewsonic, don't notice any bowing although it does have adjustments for stuff like that. I really like the USB hub in the monitor base for joysticks, etc. It'll do 1920x1440 but the text is too tiny then. TS

21" Sony here at work, and 21" Hitachi at home. I've had the Hitachi for about four years, now, and it still looks good. It's running on its second computer.IP: Logged |

TS,Mine had the adjustments too but even Fry's where I bought it agreed it was defective. The bowing was so bad and the controls wouldn't make it go away. Too bad because they are top quality monitors. I ended up paying about $200 less for this one but so far so good, it's doing great. IP: Logged |

I just have a 17 inch Proview 770. Its pretty sharp, but not the best. Ive ben thru about 4 monitors in my life time. The first one I still have and it still works to my amazement! It was a 15 inch Samtron I got in '92. The one after that was a 15 inch NEC, but it blew after 2 years. Luckily I had the warrenty and it replaced the NEC with a new 17 inch Proview 550. But it blew after 1 1/4 years. Luckily I STILL had the warrenty for that and got another Proview (The manufacturers warrenty said it would only replace it with a like model) so now I have a 17 inch Proview 770. Ive only payed for 1 monitor, lol the NEC. The warrenty payed for all the rest. and the Samtron was bought for me by my mom.------------------ -=Make sims, not hype=- Visit My Site! http://ArgonV.tripod.com/My_Page.html IP: Logged |

Great picture Mighty! My dad has the very first print of that photo (number 0000). The president got 0001. Long story short, he was stationed at White Sands New Mexico at the time the photo was originally developed and the tech owed him a big favor...so photo 0000 'disappeared' into my dads den. To this day it is his most prized possesion.-Stark Oh yeah... here's mine. And I took the photo in about 60ft of water of the coast of Oahu, Hawaii about 2 weeks ago. Stark, that's way cool about your dad having that print. That picture still gives me shivers when I think about what it represents.Tail, yeah, I have a lot of little doodads that make my computer work the way I want it to (all except the crashing part. I hate Windows.) Back in my DOS days I went through bouts of running several TSRs, too. IP: Logged |
