Has anybody heard when this will be out? I checked the website and it says, "August 2000"...I'm really looking forward to seeing the integration of terrain/objects/planes from that sim into SDOE. charm IP: Logged |

We've given in to a bit of feature creap. Our testing last month showed some serious obstacles to the new flyer, who is one of our main target markets. So we're shooting for the end of this month.SDOE planes should work in RC Sim, but not the other way around. Keep in mind, the anticipated price is $120. This is a training sim, not a game. It's a different market. IP: Logged |

I would definitely recommend RC Sim if you are in the RC Sport or are looking at trying your hand at flying. It's rather awkward at first when you try, since you are flying external view from a fixed location and you are using an actual radio. But it gets very addictive very fast, and soon you find yourself getting better at flying from the viewpoint that you would use in real life.As MH and Mighty stated, it's not a game nor is it an SDOE II. It's a highly interactive training aid that will allow you to construct your own RC type aircraft and fly them. I hope it sells well. IP: Logged |

I hope it sells well. As soon as I get my hands on $120.00 + tax I'll buy it for sure.IP: Logged |

Darthbob, some of both. I don't have a laundry list handy. One example that pops to mind is some work Michael did on collision points. Basically, adding in a debug view that shows them so that Chad could verify that the engine was putting them where he wanted them. With that info we found and fixed some problems with that code. Lots of stuff like that.OTOH, there were a lot of tweaks to handle these light-weight aircraft. Forces that were lost in the noise with full-sized planes were making the small planes unflyable. Spanky here.. Mighty if you guys played with and tweaked code to get the small planes to fly right then does that mean you made a new set of rules for the OR that the FM code is higher fidelaty? IP: Logged |
