I was switching channels and caught the last half, and yes I thought it was good too. Hope they repeat soon, boy the guy who was in The Crosby Show is putting the weight on, didn't think the P51d was in africa though. I've got Discovery Wings with Ondigital which has some good stuff on but once you have watched for 3 months it then just repeats with very little new stuff.

I don't know - I didn't like it that much when I saw it a while back. I know they have to make concessions for the purposes of film but having the pilots rip off their oxygen masks and goggles before they got into a dogfight was pretty annoying (I think they did that so we could see their faces - sort of hard to tell who's who when everybody is wearing dark goggles and masks). The dialogue during the dogfights was pretty cliched as well. Sort of wished they could have shown bigger aerial engagements as well but without access to a lot of special effects, etc. I guess it's sort of hard.

I live in Norway with no Channel 5, but I've seen it. Anyone noticed that a scene where an Me-109 blows up, is ripped right outta the Battle of Britain film?

This was a made-for-TV movie so the production values and special effects are pretty skimpy.

Yeah, I know it was a made for TV film - I just thought it was a shame that such a potentially great story wound up looking sort of cheezy. It was also a downer seeing an actor of Lawrence Fishburne's caliber screaming 'Die Jerry! Die!' during the dogfights.

If they ever made a film for the big screen about the Tuskegee airmen, I'd shell out 8-10 Benjamins to see it.
