Who knows, maybe in a little while, this game will make it in the list (when there is a campaign!! ) Cant wait for the Campaign! There have ben a few WWI flightsims. Knights of The Sky, RedBaron, Dawn Patrol, Wings of Glory, Flying Corps Gold, Red Baron II and Im sure a few others that were minor. WWI SDOE is the best Ive seen graphic wise and potential wise. Just Imagine a year from now... How many WWI planes we'll have. I just love thinking about it IP: Logged |

I dont know where you can find info. on it but I can tell you what they are like. Knights of the Sky came out in like 89 or 90. It used 3d models and was fun for the day. Cockpits were no where near realistic and the FM... what FM? Red Baron I was the sim that got me started on WWI. It had a great campaign and plenty of aircraft to choose from. It came out in 91 and was "3d". Wings of glory was the first WWI sim to use "textures" instead of flat shaded colors. It came out in 93-94 (I cant remember the exact date) It was more "3d" and had quite nice graphics for the day. If youve ever played this game, shoot down a zepplin. It looks awsome and real! (for the day) The cockpits matched up pretty well and the FM was not bad at all. The campaign was great too. Dawn Partol came before Flying Corps Gold. It was made by the same people, Rowan. This was the first WWI sim to use high-res graphics. The plane selection was good and the plane and terrain graphics were nice. It had somewhat of a FM. The game was more like a story book that you cold act out. It also came with a good manual and the cockpits were so-so. I own all of these games except Flying Corps Gold.[This message has been edited by ArgonV (edited 06-24-2000).] IP: Logged |

Hey Argon, could you give me your rating of Wings of Glory and Dawn Patrol, which one do you like better?IP: Logged |

Aladar, thats kinda hard to rate. Dawn Patrol is more high resish, but Wings of Glory has some pretty kewl effects (such when you shoot down a zepplin). If you want awsome zepplin hunts go with Wings of Glory. But if youre into 640 x 480 then go with Dawn Patrol. Wings of Glory requires DOS to work and well. So I hope you know DOS well. Dawn Patrol needs DOS too but its not as demanding with specifics.IP: Logged | |
