Topic: Luftwaffe Commander Patch?

OK-- so I went looking yesterday for Panzer Commander as Archy's tank got me itching for something new. So it is only available in a game pack with Fighting Steel, Silent Hunter, and Luftwaffe Commander. Now I know it is no SDOE but for something different, it's fun I guess. I went and got the patch, but I don't think I installed it right. When I click on the "installer", it opens a window that says "Locate System to Update"-- so I went to C:/Program Files/SSI/LuftwaffeCommander and hit install and it shows a % progress for a second and closes. Is the install that quick or did I miss something? Please help  I feel like such a newbie!------------------

Jeeves, I've had Panzer Commander for over year now, great game! I think it is the best tank game. You need to install all 3 patches, I can not remember the names of them, I'm at work now. The url you need to go to is: www.panzercommander.com and all 3 patches. It sounds like you didn't get the patch installed right because it should have taken longer. Do you have the American and British campaigns? They come in one of the patches. The patches fix the ai from driving their tanks into you, more tanks, and the American and British campaigns. My panzer commander fold is under the root, C:/panzer commander but is was a stand alone game not bundled with other games. It's got a great mission editor, I know you'll like that Let me know if you can not get these patches, I've got them at home on my pc. Happy hunting. Oh, if you ever feel like going online with panzer commander give me a shout.

Jeeves, almost forgot, if you are into making missions, there is a hack you can do where you can be in one of the tank destroyers or any drivable unit very cool. Let me know and I'll send you info on how to do it.

Himdog--Yeah-- I downloaded those last night-- two of them-- the first one contains the both 1 and 2 ppatches and the second I downloaded contains the third. My question was about Luftwaffe Commmander- and the patch installer. It is like none I have seen before-- it has on my desktop three squares- I believe they were red, yellow, and blue...and when I double click on it-- the message I typed in above comes up "Locate System to Update"-- so where does it go? ProgramFiles/Ssi/Luftwaffe Commander (or Panzer Comander)? Or do I install the patch into one of the folders in the Panzer (Luftwaffe) Comander folder? I really need help with this and hope to be up and running soon! The third Panzer patch has an installer similar to Dogma's but until I get in the first two (which I have been unable to do!) I can't install it! Thanks!! ------------------

Jeeves point it to the panzer commander folder (the root dir for panzer commander). Like I said your path is different than mine, so point yours to C:\Program Files\SSI\Panzer Commander that should work. You're right on the red, yellow and blue colors. Let me know if you still have problems, I can check my pc when I get home to make sure something strange isn't going on. Hope this helps you out.

The patches I got are: pzc1to12.exe 2,787KB and PzC1_3.exe 3,378KB. They're working fine for me, I'm pointing it to the Panzer Commander folder. The third patch which is not a patch but a expansion pack #1 called smolexp1.zip 79KB. I forget where I got the smolexp1 file, but if you like I'll send it to you just say the word.

Himdog--Since the e-mail I sent I believe I have it figured out...maybe. I just went ahead and installed the third patch and wouldn't ya know-- it is in the game...so I have three Russian career (campaign) choices, an Ardennes for the Americans, a Desert Rats for the Brits, and the German ones. Does this seem about right? Haven't even looked at the campaign maker yet. Now if I can only get Luftwaffe Commander to stop freezing at the menu screen. ------------------

Jeeves sounds like your ready to do a little tank busting  Play the game some and when you're ready for the campaign maker let me know and I'll send you how to do the hack and also if you like I'll send the smolexp1 file too.

Thanks man!! I started the Desert Rats campaign last night and had a blast....literally Once I get some more practice I would like those files, and maybe even to try it online-- but that is after much practice ------------------
