DEVICE=[drive:][path]RAMDRIVE.SYS [DiskSize SectorSize [NumEntries]]]
[/E | /A]

Where /E is to create the ramdrive in extended memory or /A to create it in expanded memory.
eg:
device=c:\dos\ramdrive.sys 4096 /a

Creates a 4mb ramdrive using expanded mem.

cheers

Cool man thanks. how will this act with Windows98 though? Will it even load? Considering no himem drivers are loaded before it?

If you still have the old dos 6.x on your system, use the himem.sys or emm386 memory manager files in config.sys. All of these still work, though windows doesn't need them anymore in config.sys.

No, I used himem.sys for ages because I still had some dos games that worked better with devicehigh lines.
Of course allocating ram to a ramdrive will lower your over all available physical ram in windows but your swap file will take care of that. Depends on how much ram you have as to whether you'll notice it.
Experiment, nothing will break. (I don't have much money so ya can't sue me for stuff all anyhow!)
