Yeah I know its off topic...but... The forum for WWII online is up http://www.hq.wwiionline.com/ imo this is the best looking of the upcoming sims. Pay to play but worth it when every unit you face is human controlled. Personally i think being a grunt is going to be a blast. IP: Logged |

Yeah, I've been following this one too, I posted about recently in Off-Topic. If you ever played Air Warrior, you know that they already had ground vehicles to crew(t34, and flakpanzer, Jeep) & multi crewed bombers. This WWII online could really top that and then some from what ive read. Good looking terrain in the screenshots, etc.IP: Logged |

Well poo - it moved to off-topic while I was watching - which is funny because it seems very much on-topic to me. "...Our flight model looks at each vehicle in components. First the plane is measured and divided into logical sections. Each section is given accurate weight, roll inertial values in all axis, and sub components such as control surfaces, fuel and oil tanks. All the sub components share the same level of detail as well. The airfoil's sections are all calculated for lift/drag/stall through 360 degrees of AOA..." Given how much effort we've put into finding the simplest data, you have to wonder how much of that's hype, huh? (or unlike us, they went and bought the full plans from the govt) Whatever, being able to portal into different tasks on a persistent battlefield is going to be the future of pay2play gaming - I hear Jane's has spent mucho moola exploring this, but these guys are already about 6 months from open beta already. ..as long as you can afford to keep up box-wise, it looks win win win to me.IP: Logged | |
