if u bought the game but canceled ur account. they are giving u a 2 week re-evaluation for free. it started last weekend.

sometime next month they will host a free d/l like the ppl at Anarchy online did. u can d/l the whole game and get a free week. but we havent been told when it will start.

u missed a gread A2A battle last night. they germans capped one of our airfields that was a 2 minute flight from another one of our air bases. the germans kept vultching our planes as they took off...but once u got up, it was a great fight! i took out about 75 planes last night in 3 hrs and was only shot down 4 times!

Any old SDOEers fly WWIIOL and looking for a squadron? Im in one now but its loosely knit and just not as flying with the Gunsliners was back in the day.

If you tried the game and left it I'd strongly recommend giving it another look. I just checked out 1.5.0 in late december (first time i'd played since august) and things were vastly improved.

Missions that count, killable pilots, multicrew vehicles, its a blast

WWIIOL is the only game I play right now. I got IL-2, sure it's prettier, but it does not do anything SDOE did not 3 years ago. WWIIOL is a new concept in gaming, seriously. It's still rough, unfinished, buggy (though *much* better right now than when released), but there's no other game like it. Since 1.5, and now I have a more powerful computer, it's a blast. I get shot down and killed mostly, I have pitiful stats, but hey someone's gonna have to do the cannon fodder

And there's the historical aspect. The spring 1940 campaign is almost never represented in sims. Of course that's particularily appealing to me. If only they added a French bomber, I'd be happy

A couple more screenshots...

Escadrille getting ready to take off from Maubeuge. Mission objective: achieve air superiority over Dinant, that is under attack.

Ouch! Those german sappers killed all crew aboard my R35! Here comes the "death camera".

WM, you usually play allied or axis?

Personally I prefer the axis aircraft. Not to mention I want to push the allies back to england to force a cross channel fight

I go by the handle Manhigh in WWIIOL.

I don't play myself, P2P games are a bit pricey over the long term for me, but I know Jetlag does and I'm almost certain he flies/drives axis most of the time.

Its Manhigh, Vahn.

I usually fly the 110C, though I'll drive a Panzer 38t when I need to help capture an airfield
