Just got my free copy in!!! I must say Im thus far impressed. Not one screw up thus far! But I do need to update my drivers... Mainly for my GeForce 3 and SB Live! X-Gamer. I'll also probably need updated drivers for my Cannon Scanner and my Apollo printer.

So who here is running WinXP and can tell me what I need to get most things working smoothly? EAW seems to not want to work... I havent tried any other games as of yet. Oh yeah, AOL 5.0 doesnt like WinXP either, so what version do I need for WinXP?

Thanks guys!!

P.S. Any tips for optimizing WinXP or customizing it??

I made the higher ups buy me a new machine with XP on it. I work for an ISP and most new machines are being sold with it. XP is a waste of time. It doesn't do anything Win 98 didn't do. It's just St. Bill's minions bringing out yet another OS that's not ready.
Almost got excited over Remote Assistant but it only works from a machine running XP and I'm not sure if it'll connect to a machine not running XP. I also find XP is incredibly slow and requires way too much HD space. The machine I made them buy me is an AMD 1.something Ghz with 500M of ram and it's slow. (This is the one I've been told to load FS on to test the video card.) 2 gig of HD space for the OS is nuts. Once my experiments and documenting how one sets up DUN and Networks in XP I hope to install 98 on my new racing machine so it'll work the way it should.

I'm running XP on my system & I love it. Not meaning to be at odds with Sunray but XP far better than win98 & anything is better that winME, I've got 1.5g prossy & 512mb ram, & my machine smokes! fast boot & all! I'm still running a FAT32 partition too, I just did the upgrade from winME, all went well, just had to update some drivers. Hell, I even installed on the old system, a 233mhz prossy with 64MB ram, (the min requirements) & quess what? It loaded & is running just fine. XP is way more stable that 98 or ME.
Also, XP is way better at memory & resource management. I've got XP Pro & I ain't never going back.
One last note, I've gone as long as a week with out rebooting, (my machines are on 24/7) and still runs well.
