A plug is one of the removeable knockouts in an electricl junction box, yes, it is about the size and color of a nickle (but not as thick). Its also worthless.IP: Logged |

It is that, and the term got started with the early vending machines, when you could get sodas, etc., for a nickel. A plug nickel was the same size, and could fool the machines easily. But it was value-less as exchange.Sheesh, I AM gettin' old. And still a compendium of useless information.
