Well guys, the Willy's Jeep is finally ready!!This vehicle comes with its own driver, sounds and 3 training missions as well as a hangar mission. For offensive armament, 4 loadout options are possible: - Empty load...nothing to see here! - Machine Gun.. - Bazooka... - Machine Gun & Bazooka... These loadout options are selectable from the SDOE Mission editor. So, what's under the hood eh? (the hood can be opened and closed with the canopy toggle cmd in keyboard.inp) When the Bazooka is fully loaded, watch out not to make sharp left turns at low speeds with full throttle. This is because the Bazookas' ammo is offsetting the vehicles' CoG. Once you use up the Bazookas' ammo, the vehicle will be stable. This Jeep has a fully visible damage model, as you take damage, parts get shot off, exposing parts and bits underneath them, the bonnet, windscreen, grille, gunners, machine gun can all get shot off leaving you with one bland Jeep! If your grille gets shot off though, your engine won't last long. For those who want desert textures, they are included as an option in the download: Or you can make your own skin, it's up to you. Many Thanks to Razer for giving me the base 3d model and tyres for this vehicle
This vehicle is currently available at my site (URL in sig) in the "Terrain/Ground Objects" section. and also on simfiles.

Hi,Your jeep is really nice ! Thank you for your contribution ! However I would like to mention the following problem : After having installed the Jeep I get a CTD from the Mission Editor utility, (When I remove the Media\Aircraft\Jeep directory I do not have the problem). Do you have an idea on how to fix that ? problem with the .Sm or the loadout.ppf file ?

Hello Ansons,Thank you for your kind words About the problem, do you have Planepack 6 installed? And also, could you explain in a little more detail how the CTD happens? For example, can you load any mission at all in the editor, or is it completely broken? I'll check the Jeep sm and ppf files and see. I think I may know the problem. Are you running SDOE in French? If so, there maybe something in the loadout.pff file in the French section that's causing the problem. I'll have a look. I'm going to release version 2 of the Jeep soon, and I hope to include all the fixes so everyone can run it without problems. ------------------ Visit FS:SDOE Online IP: Logged |

Aye I have a similar problem... When I download all your ground vehicles and install all of them, I get corrupted text in SDOE where the training mission text should be.IP: Logged |

That's good to see. I wonder why the training mission texts are corrupted though. I test my objects on both my computers (one with a clean install of SDOE only with patch 1.5) before I release them. Ah well, *grabbing bug swatter*, I'll see what I can find ------------------ Visit FS:SDOE Online [This message has been edited by Harman_5 (edited 03-24-2001).] IP: Logged |

Hi everybody!I have found what cause the crash of the Mission editor. It is due to a mismatch with the Matador 40mm vehicle. The error message is as follows " Mission Editor caused a internal error" I use the US version of the Editor because the French one does not work properly. After having removed the Media\Aircraft\Matador directory , I do not meet the problem anymore with the Jeep. Moving back the Matador Directory, I get again the error. I think, the two vehicles have to be checked together. IP: Logged |

71hemicuda,One important thing to remember when installing these vehicles and basically most SDOE add-ons including aircraft is that they're "pre-packaged" in their correct directories. That is, say you download an add-on, unzip it, open the unzipped folder, you'll *usually* see a "media" folder in the download you just unzipped. Inside this media folder are more folders that are arranged in a way that they'll be correctly installed into SDOE *only* if you make sure that you overwrite the SDOE media folder with the one in the download. Here's an example of how I install an add-on. In my case, SDOE is installed in: C:\Program Files\Fighter Squadron\ I copy the "media" folder unzipped in the add-on download, and then open Windows Explorer, click the + icon next to "Program Files" and then click the "Fighter Squadron" folder. The address bar in Explorer now displays: "C:\Program Files\Fighter Squadron\". Click Paste. If you get a message saying that a folder called "media" already exists and would you like to overwrite it, click "Yes to All". Notice how I didn't enter the media folder. The add-on should now be installed! If your add-on is not working for some reason, then as a test, enter your media folder in SDOEs install directory ("C:\Program Files\Fighter Squadron\media\"), and look for more media folders where the "Aircraft", "pilot" and other folders are. If there are additional media folders inside your main media folder, then just Cut them, click the "Up" button in the Explorer toolbar and hit paste. I hope this helps Feel free to ask if you're still unclear on something.
