Your skins inspire me to try and build better planes, to match your quality work. You have set a new standard for detail in SDOE.

Thanks Diego, Hawk, and Raider! I'm still learning, and my computer dumbness prevents me from doing a lot lol. On that note, Werner is going to post some corrections as I complete them. I'm reworking the Joe Foss wildcat skin(giving it the proper colored dash, new bottom, and area behind the pilot)I'd done earlier for Abbeville Field, and the 328th skin there too. Thanks for the work each of you has done!

All "Zeros" flying today are fakes. The aluminium used by the Japanese in WWII sucked and it deteriorated in just a few years to the point where the planes weren't safe to fly anymore.

Here in the US, most fake Zeros are T-6 Texans.

I don't think "all" are fakes. I'm pretty sure there are one or two flying "restored" Zero's.

As far as the aluminum deteriorating being the reason for so few, virtually all of today's flying warbird are complete rebuilds with little or no original skins, spars, struts, stringers, etc. They aren't much different from factory built reproductions.

I forget where I read it, but I'm pretty sure there are only one or two actual Zeros left, and they're not flight-worthy.

Mighty,

Go here and scroll almost to the bottom. The Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, CA has a flying A6M captured on Saipan in 1944.
