Forgive me if this is mis-placed, but I'm new to this. The following announcement is also in the FS Sites section but it seemed appropriate here too:

Hello all! I'd just like to announce my site, RAF Harkness. It is full of schemes for British aircraft in SDOE and few other odds and ends. I have recently upgraded it to cover aircraft in PP6. I'm new to this so if there are any problems with it, please let me know. Thanks.

That's fine mate.

In general, any new skins and such should be advertised here with a nice a screen shot(but not too large for us that are 56k impaired ).

Any upgrades or major improvements to your site probably belong in the sites section - as you have done.

BTW, check out the Lanc skins at my site, I have a basic template you can use if ya want to - just drop me a line.

Cheers,

Thanks for the kind words. I just wanted to let everyone know that I have just updated RAF Harkness slightly. I have:

- Fixed the "Wavy" Manc.tif file to match the picture. The old TIF made the engines all black.

- Divied up some of the Spitfire schemes based on some Spitfire variations I have found here on the FSIC Messageboard.

- Staying with Spitfires, I have fixed a strange "lip" on the under-port side engine of several Spitfire schemes. The new TIFs should be devoid of this defect.

- Added a Martlet (F4F4 Wildcat) scheme in the Royal Navy section and 824 Squadron, Royal Navy to the GUI Modifications section to go with it.

- Changed/added some loadout.ppf files (for the F4F4 just mentioned for instance) in the GUI Modifications section.

Enjoy!

These are truly great! Very good work 3dp!!!
And a very nice website too...

I did just as Bishop - downloaded everything!
I however get the problem when downloading them that the tif images get saved as .tiff and also it would in my opinoin be better that they were zipped or at least had different names (for example now all your mosq.tifs are named mosq) - but better to zip them up IMO.

But great work, Thanks!!

By popular demand, I have revised RAF Harkness thoroughly, replacing all of the TIFs with uniquely named ZIPs. This should make downloading the Beaufighters, Corsairs, Martlet, Bf110 (New!), and Do17 (New!) much easier. Any difficulties, please let me know.

The following is a list of recent modifications made to RAF Harkness. While most of them are new, some have been mentioned in other posts. The changes are NOT as extensive as the following 24 items imply! In short, I have:

1. Revised the site logo. I'm rather proud of it!

2. Provided all of the files in ZIP form due to popular demand!

3. Added an 'Inspiration' credit for most schemes to more clearly identify the sources for each aircraft livery. Since, for the most part, I do not use specific squadron codes, I felt "inspiration" was the best word to use.

4. Re-termed the 'Generic' schemes to 'Standard', since "generic" has a somewhat negative conotation, which I did not think was fair to the schemes in question!

5. Fixed the 'Wavy' Manchester file to match the picture. The old file was for the version before GT modelled the Vulture engines and it made the engines all black on the latest version.

6. Swapped the regular Lancaster schemes. The yellow-outlined code letters were more appropriate to the version with the 'Tactical' markings, so the 'Standard' version now has the red only code letters.

7. Replaced the Beau 21 'RAAF' scheme with a new RAF 'Burma' one. The 'RAAF' scheme has been moved (see 20, below).

8. Revised the 'Standard' and 'D-Day' Mosquito FB schemes (coding and spinners) to better match their new historical 'Inspiration' credits.

9. Moved the 'RAAF' Mosquito FB (see 20, below).

10. Modified the 'Pacific' PR Mosquito scheme to be an 'RAAF' one and moved it (see 20, below).

11. Re-coded the Hurricane schemes since my faking it with the Bank Gothic font was not entirely successful here. I used acurate WW2 RAF fonts which AGAS-5 pointed me to a source for. Other schemes have also been modified, but the effect is not as noticable as it is here.

12. Renamed the Hurricane 'Africa' scheme to 'Malta' and modified it (fin flash and spinner) to bring it more into line with its new 'Inspiration' credit.

13. Removed the 'Generic' Hurricane scheme since it was not much different than the 'Battle of Britain' one.

14. Divied up some of the Spitfire schemes based on some Spitfire variations on the FSIC Messageboard.

15. Staying with Spitfires, I have fixed a strange "lip" on the under-port side engine of several Spitfire schemes. The new files should be devoid of this defect.

16. Removed the 'Generic' Spitfire IA scheme since it was not much different than the 'Battle of Britain' one.

17. Moved the 'RAAF' Spitfire VC (see 20, below).

18. Added a Martlet (F4F4 Wildcat) scheme in the 'Royal Navy' section.

19. Added three schemes for Aladar's Fairey Barracuda in the 'Royal Navy' section. In fact, these have already been changed since I originally posted them in that I have added serial numbers to them.

20. Added a separate section under 'Miscellaneous' for the Royal Australian Air Force. All 'RAAF' schemes now reside here.

21. Added a separate section called 'The Enemy' under 'Miscellaneous' for the German nightfighter schemes.

22. Changed/added some loadout.ppf files in their respective ZIP file in the 'GUI Modifications' section.

23. Divied up the new squadrons ZIP file into separate squadron files. I have also done my best to provide replacement information for the default British squadrons in the game.

24. Removed the new Cutaways.bmp ZIP file. It took up too much room and one can get them individually from the site anyway, as now explained at the bottom of the 'GUI Modifications' page.

Enjoy!
