Hey guys, well it's time.. not for a final version yet (still lots of little things to do) but for Beta2! It's as good as it's gonna get now until the final version is released, the FM is pretty damn close, the DM is pretty good etc etc blah blah No Snakeyes or Mk84AIR with this version, I still need to get the retard working right before they get kicked out, but the A10 is up at my site now, please read the A10Beta2.txt for changes you need to make in the startup.ppf and keyboard.inp.Have fun guys, this baby packs a bit of a punch, but do remember that it's primarily a bomber not a fighter, and also when you think that the gun is out of alignment cause you can't hit shit with it, that it's around 10ft below you and not like most ww2 a/c which are almost level with you, and also that it's set more for longer range targets than close ones, practice and you'll get there. In this release there are no missions included, if you got Beta1 with the training missions you will need to edit them since the loadout has changed. Please give me feedback on Frame Rates aswell as anything else you find, I probably know all the little things but I might have missed something you'll find. Have fun guys... btw... in this Baby I've clocked up a score of over 3500  ~Nat~

Nat - great second round! I have been flying around for about an hour and really enjoying the new version.However, I do have comment on the weapon loading. I think you have mistaken MK-84s for MK-82. MK-84s are 2,000 lb class dumb bombs and they can't be loaded on ter racks, they are single parent carriage weapons due to wing hard point strength. MK-82s are 500 pound class dumb bombs. So in your heavy weapon loading where the A-10 is wall-to-wall bombs they is no way the A-10 could carry that many MK-84s. Did I catchya? ------------------

you could well be right, I got alot of stuff from Tom, one thing was a gif showing the loadouts and hardpoints, it stated that those points use dumb bombs, but not specifically which bomb. I'll check back with Tom, not that I doubt you, more to make sure that this kind of mistake isn't made in the future. One thing though, those Mk84's aren't 2000lbs bombs, after testing I took the warhead size right down, they do just too much damage in SDOE, but if it's going to be carrying less of them in the final loadout them I could well up the sizes and weights.Thanks Speed. Nat, marvellous plane. With full detail, except fog in close, I run a FR of 48 to 65 . This is with the plane having max loadout or just guns and all alone is the big blue sky.------------------

Nat, I forgot to report, with the A-10 and a loadout of Mavericks I have 50+ fps in the cockpit view and 35+ fps for an outside view of the aircraft w/loading. of course I have neverhad a problem with SDOE as far as fps goes. For the record I run a 400 MHz/256 MB RAM and I can't remember if I'm running using the dual 12 MB DM II in SLI mode of my ge Force 3d rophet 32 MB main card. I think I run in 3Dfx mode on the DM IIs and get better results.IP: Logged |

Great Speed, thanks alot for the report, it is pretty importnat to me cause I get very low FR almost all the time, even though I hav a K62-500, 160mb, and V3, this machine should fly but it don't, so I couldn't say what FR would be like for you guys. So far the couple of reports I have gotten have been better than I expected, infact, your FR with full loadout is really pretty good, all those bombs really hit on the frame rate.Thanks alot for that Speed ~Nat~ IP: Logged |

Nat: I reported very low frame rates to you and reading the above I have a question, Why are my rates so low when others report 30+? Also I can only get the mavericks to load even though I think I copied the files to the right places....i thought! Can you enlighten me...IP: Logged |

Duke -Did you make the changes (additions) in the startup file? Read the readme and also look at the 10Astartup at the bottom of the file. You need to have the lines concerning weapon load add to your file. Also you might check the beta1 A-10 statrup as I think it had a few more, different lines you need to add. IP: Logged | |
